The title of the book is It written by Stephen King. Published in September in the year of 1986. The genre of the book is both horror fiction and a thriller. There are many main characters but the most famous character being pennywise. The story takes place in a small town called Derry. The reason I chose this book is because I am a big fan of the Stephen King books and novels. The novels are in my opinion the better ones because there could just possibly be a connection between all the novels.

The Odyssey is a great epic that consists of the epic hero himself Odysseus. This epic which is not only interesting and epic, but it is intense at times, even clever. This epic is full of epithets and just amazing descriptive words to describe the simplest things. The odyssey is filled with non stop action that odysseus just can’t get a break from. I feel like this book is trying to say how ever many obstacles or “monsters” that you encounter, you can always have a plan and get through it. Throughout a major part of the epic odysseus is trying to find his way home to his kingdom, his wife, and his son, but throughout the whole thing he is stuck at sea trying to get home. Even though he has help from many gods, he still can’t manage to get home, because he can’t utilize his help properly. When you see Odysseus going through all of these problems and monsters, he still manages to get through it all. Odysseus never gives up even though the odds might not be in his favor, he is always still thinking, and thinking of possible outcomes, which some people nowadays do a lot. This story is great to read because it teaches you many lessons. It can teach you that you can’t give up, because you can always do something to solve your problem. It can also teach you that love never gives up, his wife waits for him for several years before he comes back, now that is true love. This story can also teach us about persistence and how we can overcome anything we put our minds to.

My book that I'm reading is called “Game Plan For Life" and it is an autobiography. It is about National Football League Super Bowl Champion Joe Gibbs and his life. I like it so far because I didn’t know about Joe Gibbs a lot but now I am starting to get to understand his life. The setting takes place in several places like his hometown of Mocksville, North Carolina and the NFL team he coached in Washington D.C. The team name is the Washington Redskins. It is interesting as well because his father dealt with alcoholism and he had to live with that his whole life. He started off as an Offensive Line coach at San Diego State University and held that job at Arkansas University. He then moved up to the NFL where he was an Offensive backfield coach for the St. Louis Cardinals (NFL Team at the time).

In the beginning he was running into lots of monsters trying to kill him. His dad left when he was very young and now that he is in a camp for half bloods he is trying to figure out were his dad is and who he is. The camp is very different to normal private schools he has gone to before. The school is sort of like Harry Potter in a way because it includes magic. The school also has sword fighting. I am reading Allegiant by Veronica Roth. The two main characters in the book are Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton. The story takes place in a large city (Chicago) where the "remaining" humans live. Everyone is kept there by a wall surrounding their city. The conflict that is going on is the factions are no longer and someone is trying to control the way things work now. There used to be five factions, Erudite, Abnegation, Amity, Candor, and Dauntless. Also the main characters are starting to wonder what really is beyond that wall. Something interesting that has happened in my book is the factions is what divided everybody up based on who they were, and their old leader was controlling. The main "leader" now wants no factions as well as everybody else, but she still wants to control the city. The main characters now have to figure out how they are going to stop their new "leader" and figure out what's behind the wall.

Forks is a really cold, wet, and rainy town in Washington. There is another character in the book named Edward Cullen. When Edward first met Bella he was acting really weird by clenching his fists and making a avoiding her at all costs. One conflict that has occurred so far in this book is that Bella almost got hit by a car but Edward saved her. She is trying to figure out how he could possibly stop a swerving van from hitting her when he wasn't even by her. People on the boat think that she is making it up and Lo is trying to figure out what happened to the woman and is getting threatening notes from the murder. Everybody on the boat can’t contact other people because the router won’t work. Her friend, Judah, reported her missing because of the loss of contact.

The book that I am reading is "Hunter Killer" the author Patrick Robinson. The book is about a United States Air Force pilot that wants to fly on the F-16 fighter jet and the program is cut short because of money, after they tell him he was pretty mad he just wanted to have the pilot dream and see the sky from 41,000 ft. After they tell him he is sent to the Predator which and a huge drone that is very quiet and is stationed in Iraq. His mission is to hunt down Osama Bin Laden and take out the Yemen forces under the President George W Bush. When he trained he had a very hard pilot training him that was a former F-16 pilot. Also he was that the predator didn't have a flight manual to teach them to learn to takeoff and land the predator. But also in the book that waas another time where can could become a fighter pilot but he didn't make the cut for that time.

My book is called The absolute true diary of a part time Indian. The book is by Sherman Alexie and was published in 2007. The genre of the book is realistic fiction and follows the life of a Native American boy named Junior who lives in an Indian reservation. Him and his family are poor and have lots of problems in the family. He realizes that he has no future of going somewhere in life and decides that he wants to leave the reservation and attend a school that is predominantly white. He believes and constantly reminds himself that he is less than other and puts himself down for being Indian. On of the conflicts in the story is the low social classes in America. Junior is an Indian boy that lives in poverty but also attends a predominantly white school. So far i enjoy the book and also think that is is a good book to read.

My book is called “Warriors: Darkest Night” by Erin Hunter. This book is about five clans of cats who live around a lake. The main characters of this book are Twigpaw, Violetpaw, and Alderheart. Twigpaw is a Skyclan cat who is very energetic and happy. Violetpaw is Twigpaw’s twin sister, and is shy and courageous. Alderheart lives in Thunderclan, and he is the one who found Twigpaw and Violetpaw and brought them back to the clans. The main conflict is that Violetpaw left with other Skyclan cats to go find Skyclan cats who were lost on their journey to the clans. Toward the end of the book, two cats from different clans, who fell in love went missing, and it causes more chaos in Shadowclan, who needed the cat who left to stay unified. While Violetpaw was in the clans, she had a friend who drowned in the lake, and on her journey, she sees and follows her to another cat who she thinks is special.

My book, A Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft, is about the power that women have in the world. It is a huge feminist book that shows that women don't have as much power as men even though they deserve it. Although Mary Wollstonecraft isn't saying that women are better than men its just that women deserve the same as men. I really like the book right now, even though it's kind of hard to understand, it's still a great book that can give women the encouragement they may need, but it can also give men a understanding for the struggles of what women go through everyday. There isn't really a main character it is just Mary Wollstonecraft talking about how men, referred to as "sir", don't get the struggles that women go through everyday. I think that the conflict in this is the struggles of women compared to the ones of men. There is not blame though. It is kind of hard to tell because there is no plot line, it's almost like Mary Wollstonecraft just wrote whatever she was thinking.

My choice book is " Iceman" by Chris Lynch. the main character in this book is Eric. he is a boy who plays hockey and his family has some relationship problems. He will sometimes get angry at his friends and family, but for the most part he will take it out on the ice. His mom and dad are divorced. His dad is an alcoholic and his mom does not care about him, so his only role model is his older brother Duane. Duane is a great athlete and made his dad proud through high school and if he put his mind to it, he could have gone pro. but, he got distracted by drugs and quit sports to play the guitar. this made his dad mad and disappointing and left Eric to be the only one left to become something special.

This all happens as she's living in college with her roommate she does not like. The book I am reading is Looking for Alaska. It is a book by John Green. I like the book so far. It has mystery and adventure. All of the College students in the book are living on the edge. They are starting to do things that their age finally permits them to do. They are very risky. Everyone is very nice to him that is friends with his room partner. Miles or "Pudge" never really had many friends and is relieved to find that his room partner considers him a friend. The people that don't like his room buddy go after Miles to get back at his room partner though. However, those people are going to regret that. Now their whole group is going after those two boys. The college students are also trying to balance school life and their fun. Miles is trying to be good like his parents want him to, but he has fallen into what his mother would call, "the wrong crowd," and he knows, but at this point he only cares about getting friends at all.

My book is called "Monster" by Walter Dean Myers. This book is about a boy who is accused of murder at a convenience store. The book takes place in a court room, but also includes places such as the store, the jail cell, and individuals involved in the murder's houses. The main character is named Steve Harmon, he is a 16 year old boy, thin and brown. He is accused of a robbery that turned into a homicide murder case, and he has to convince the jury that he is innocent. In jail, he writes notes and creates a life diary of what goes on, how court and jail is, and how he is feeling. He goes through many emotions, he also feels very heavy feelings such as doubt and guilt. So far, it doesn't look so good for him, he has been accused of many things, hopefully it doesn't turn out bad for Steve Harmon and the rest of his friends. This book so far I would definitely recommend because of the ups and downs it goes through, there is many different emotions, and many thrilling scenes.

The book takes place in the U.S.A but it moves around as he tells more about his life. One of the conflicts he talks about is the civil war. Buffalo Bill was an Western legend and he does multiple good/cool things in his life. At the age of 14 he rode in the pony express. He was a scout in the United States military. Along with fighting in the Civil war he also fought in the Indian Wars. He also got the medal of honor but it was taken away by congress because they made the requirements for getting the medal of honor harder to achieve. The real name of Buffalo Bill was William Frederick Cody. That is the book I’ve been reading.

I’m reading Chasing Lincoln’s Killer. Written by James L. Swanson and it is a Non-fiction book. The beginning of the book takes place on Good Friday Morning, April 14th, 1865. On April 9th, Robert E. Lee had just surrendered. Lincoln had JUST called for blacks to have the right to vote legally. The main character throughout the book I’d say would mainly be John Wilkes Booth. THe main conflict throughout the book was that President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and they needed to find out who the killer was. I feel like its not as enjoyable when i already know the victim who had assassinated lincoln before reading it, as well as some more knowledge about it anyways. But so far the story was doing really good. I’ve just lost interest in it and changed books about after chapter 1. I like non fiction books, but this isn’t my type of non fiction.

The book I am reading is "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell. The book is about a girl who lives in a small home with her mother and step dad who is not a very nice man, and her two brothers and sister. She is the oldest. Even in her old house she was still very poor. They are all barely fed, can't brush their teeth, don't really shower and are forced to listen to their awful stepdad. Park is a boy who at first judges Eleanor but then learns that she is not a shabby person. The book doesn't really go into detail about Parks home yet but as of what they have said his dad is a jerk sometimes but his mom is really sweet and caring. I believe he has an older brother but I think that is it for siblings. They end up falling in love with each other and sharing comic books and music everyday on the bus.

I am reading the book “Oath of Office” by Marc Cameron (successor writer to Tom Clancy). This fictional book takes the reader into the world of politics and spies. In the book, president Jack Ryan of the United States tries to protect America as the world changes before it. In Iran, a revolution threatens to overthrow the current government. At home, America remains divided as its political parties vie for dominance. All the while a deadly flu outbreak is spreading across the United States. All of this pales in comparison though when two Russian nuclear bombs go missing. It is then up to Jack Ryan and some of his former CIA contacts to figure out where the bombs have gone. They will go up against opponents all over the world as they get closer to the truth. But the closer they get, the more crafty their enemies become. When it is revealed that Iran is in possession of the bombs, the ultimate question arises. What are you supposed to do if an out of control nation has the power to kill millions of people - and is willing to do so? I have greatly enjoyed reading this book so far and would recommend the Tom Clancy books to people who are interested in spy novels. In all, I give this book a solid 9/10.

The book I am currently reading is called The Miko. It is a book full of different cultures in Japan and America. The book has a few stories within the book itself. “Miko” is the main character which is a sorceress (direct translation from book) and is trying to kill a man by the name of Nicholas Linnear who is also mentioned in the book, although he can be seen as the main character as well because the story changes between the view of both characters. The sorceress has a very strong character and has powers that are incomprehensible. She can be called a murderess because she is trying to murder Nicholas. In the book, there are many different points of action and just story. At the beginning of the book the character Nicholas is just a training ninja and towards the end i'm assuming is a very skilled warrior. The book has caught my eye and has been an interesting read so far.

From 1939 to 1945, the world participated in a terrible war that caused over 6 Million casualties. The countries involved in the war were looking for anything that could be used to defeat their opponents. The German army searched for mythological and religious artifacts that may help them defeat the allies. Adolf Hitler ordered his SS army to search for the holy grail and even the Ark of the Covenant similarly to in the movie "India Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Ark." The book, Dracula vs Hitler takes the search for mythological items and adds one of them to the world of which the story takes place. When a young Englishman is sent to Romania so that he can add explosive power to the resistance force, he assists Abraham Van Helsing in raising The Dracula. What follows is a conquest of German bases and the vampire's own duality of a beast and a civilized man.

I am reading The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. In the book, the main character Thomas, has to cross a zombie ridden desert to get a cure for the disease that is turning people into “zombies”. In the book, the main conflict happens when Thomas is separated from his friends and now he has to get there by himself. The setting is somewhere roughly near the equator (in the book they think it is probably Mexico).

The book I'm reading is called Refugee by Alan Gratz. This book follows three different main characters in three different locations and time periods. The characters names are Josef Landau, a Jewish boy living in Germany in 1938, Isabel Fernandez, a girl that lives in Cuba in the 1990's, and Mahmoud Bishara a boy that lives in Syria in 2015 during airstrikes and gas attacks. These people are all in a bad position in their country and trying to get out of that situation by finding a new life in a new country. They go through many difficulties trying to get to these new places but it eventually works out. This shows that even through hard times a lot of things will eventually work out.

Im reading the book "speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson. Its about this girl who is starting off high school but it doesnt really g the way she wanted it to. One day she had a party and she had to call the cops on her own party and people were upset with her so they started to hate her. It was hard for her to make friends and do well in school so the first trimester she failed a lot of her classes and she was always late for school. The setting of the book changes a lot. At school. On the road, in classrooms, all over the place. So far im where melinda (main person) is on her second trimester and shes starting to do better in school and make a few friends. She had a best friend rachel but once the party thing happened she decided to not be friends with her even with all the history they have together. So far the book is good and im enjoying iy.

I am reading the book "Alex, Approximately" by Jenn Bennett. The main character is Bailey Rydell. She has an online "boyfriend" named Alex who she's never met and he lives in California. Bailey moved to California to live with her dad after her parents got a divorce because she was tired of hearing her mom and her boyfriend fight. She hasn't told Alex that she moved yet because she doesn't know if he could be a creeper and wants to know more about him. She started a new job at a tourist museum where she met a new friend. She also met someone named Porter Roth, a guy that she thinks is very cute. They don’t get along very well. When she walks the boardwalk, she looks for clues of where Alex could be by how he describes where he works. Alex tries to get Bailey to visit him and watch movies with him without knowing she is near him.

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. The main characters are the Karenina (Anna, Vronsky) and Shaberbasky(Kitty, Dolly, Levin) family. It is a drama/romance that takes place in Europe, and describes all of the hardships they face, such as affairs, social titles and love triangles. It takes place around the 1800's, and it was written in 1877. It includes the challenge of disobeying society and family for love and/or money. The points of view change about every chapter from Anna, Kitty, Levin and Dolly. It discusses how affairs were such a big deal, especially when you wish to leave the relationships. The book can be difficult at times, but the story is entertaining, as long as you can follow along. It is a dramatic, romance novel that gives a moving story of their emotions, and how they conflict with dominant social expectations of their time.

I am reading the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. The main characters name is Jacob. At the beginning of story he witnesses a tragic experience in which his grandfather is killed by a mythical creature. His whole his grandfather has told him stories about where he lived as a child and all of the magical people that live there as well. For the longest time Jacob believed in these things, but it only got him bullied and made fun of. This instant caused him to fall out of the belief that they were real, but while his grandfather was lying on the ground about to die, he brought it up again. He told Jacob to find the certain island where he used to live. After much convincing, he persuaded his parents to let him go. Once he arrived to the island he went to the old children's home where his grandfather used to live, and there was nothing but old photos and a broken down house. Jacob went back the next and was brought by the peculiar back into their "loop." They were real and they were living. This rose many questions for Jacob, so Miss Peregrine told him most of the stories that he needed to know as well as him just talking to the children himself. He learned that peculiar children are hunted by the exact thing that killed his grandfather, Halo's. They need to feed on human eyes in order to take human form. Jacob is one of the only people that can see Halo's. He was also taught about the loop that they live in, and how it resets everyday. They basically live the same day over and over again. At the same time of all of this chaos Jacob is falling for Emma, one of the peculiar children. He has to find a way to stay out of trouble, and protect the children at the same time.

I’m reading Struts and Frets by Jon Skomron. It’s about a kid in high school whos in a band and wants to become successful. He’s going to try and compete in a battle of the bands in order to win some free studio time to record a professional sounding track. A lot of things are holding him back though like his lead singer and his mom not wanting him to focus on music but on school. He overcomes these by finally standing up to their lead singer because he’s quite rude and not kind and he acts like he cares more about school but he focuses on music. A lot of things also happen with relationships like their drummer stealing the lead singers girl and the main character Sam getting a girlfriend. These also hold them back because it adds tension between band mates and it makes it hard for them to get more stuff done.

I am currently reading the book Scythe, by Neal Shusterman. The book is placed in the future and you are basically not able to die. The only way you can die is if you are chosen by a Scythe. Scythes are elite people that have earned their job by proving their selves holy or a great person throughout their life. They travel from place to place choosing the old and or weak that have been chosen. That's how people die in this time frame. Currently, Citra and Terranova are sitting at home around dinner time, when someone knocks on the door. When they go to open the door, there is a Scythe standing there. They welcome him inside. He is an older man, with a bright red robe. They both are freaking out and trying to act as healthy as possible. But then they wonder if he may just be there to have some dinner. Terranova goes and starts making the dinner trying to make it as good as it can be to make the Scythe happy. They do not know if he just there for dinner or to take someone's life that day. They are terrified.

I just started reading Flipped but so far it’s really good. There are two main characters, Bryce and Juli. The story started off by telling each of their point of views upon meeting each other. Bryce didn’t like Juli, the nosy girl who’d peek through his windows and walk into his house. Juli liked Bryce, from the first day they met she knew he was the one.

I’m reading the book Grenade by Alan Gratz. In the book it has many characters but, the two main characters are Ray and, Hideki. The book switches on and off from their perspectives of World War ll and what they are experiencing. Also, it talks about what their life before they joined the army and marines was like too. It explains that before and during the war they both had emotional and physical battles. For example, their emotional battles during the war is they both lost someone that they knew Ray lost a friend named Hard-Luck and Hideki lost his father because of the war. Their physical battle during the war is them fighting in World War ll/The Battle Of Okinawa. To add on about the book you can tell it has many battles that they both face, physically and emotionally, which their battles are also the plot of the story.

In the book it starts with telling you about how the main character Colin has only dated girls named Katherine and that each time Katherine ends up breaking up with him. I am currently reading a novel titled “The Maze Runner” by James Dashner. The genre of “The Maze Runner” is dystopian. The main character is a teen boy named Thomas. The conflict of “The Maze Runner” so far has been person vs. self because Thomas is frustrated with his inability to recall any of his memories besides his name. There is also a person vs. person conflict because Thomas doesn’t get along with the other people he meets. The setting of “The Maze Runner” is in a place called the Glade, and the time the book takes place in seems to be the future. One interesting thing that has happened so far has been that Thomas saw another person that had been stung by something when he had been instructed not to go see them. He also met a friend named Chuck in the small time that he had been at the Glade.

I am reading Scythe by Neal Shusterman. The world is set in the far future where disease and natural death have been eradicated. There is also a technological hive mind called the Thunderhead. While this might sound like an amazing improvement to the world this comes along with the issue of overpopulation, which can be solved by Scythes. These Scythes are the bringers of death in the world, the only things keeping the world from crowding and resources from being depleted. Scythes are the one thing in the world that is separate from the Thunderhead. There is something moral in this line of work so it is determined that humans should be the decision makers rather than technology. Death is the only thing that the world is uncertain about now because the Thunderhead makes all information known to anyone who is willing enough to retrieve it. Our main characters are Rowan and Citra, two apprentices that were chosen to compete to become a Scythe, which neither wants for their life. The most dramatic thing that has happened so far is called the Vernal conclave. The main piece of information that becomes important is that at the end of the apprenticeship, whoever wins the title of Scythe must glean their competition.

The book I read was "Orbiting Jupiter" by Gary D. Schmidt. The book is told from the perspective of Jack, a twelve year old boy who goes to a small town school. The book is about Joseph, a fourteen year old boy who is taken in by Jack's family through the CPS services. Joseph arrives near the end of the fall, and at first is very pissed off about his current situation, but eases into the entire situation. Jack's father treats Joseph as a son of his own and within the first day or so Joseph is assigned many chores to do on the farm, he also gets assigned a cow named Rosey that he must tend to and take care of every single day. At first the cow is uneasy about a new person coming around but their relationship grows quickly day by day throughout the book. Going back to school after thanksgiving break leads to Joseph not knowing anyone but Jack in the small town school, so fitting in becomes a problem. It is a problem not just because he is a new student but also due to the fact that his personality can tend to lead him to situations that he doesn't need to be it. Although Joseph is a troublemaker in school he excels in every aspect of school, besides socially. Joseph never becomes able to fit in, and Jack notices. The bus driver that makes Jack's and Joseph's two mile walk to school starts making Joseph feel terrible about his father and having to separate from him, so Jack and Joseph decide to walk two miles to school and back every day before and after school. Winter comes and Jack and Joseph eventually learn how to knit from lessons from Jack's mother. Everyday still the boys go out and milk the cows, and Rosey has gotten to the point where if someone besides Joseph tries to milk her she throws a fit. At the school kids are still bullying Joseph for being different, and they find out he has a kid, whom was taken away from his due to his young age. Everyone that hates Joseph now knows the best way to tear at his emotions and Joseph eventually ends up getting into a brawl with five other kids who are all older then himself and Jack, and as Joseph lays on the floor getting beat and kicked Jack sprints into the fight and tries to save the day, but does nothing but give and then receive a black eye, the fight goes on until the gym teacher comes into the locker room and breaks up the fight. The story slowly gets better and Joseph earns some respect through the school and things get better, until Joseph's dad comes to his new home and tries to take him away, and Joseph refuses, saying he is happy at his new home and would not like to leave. Joseph's dad leaves for a couple of days and everything seems to be going swell up until Joseph's dad comes back while the boys are at the school, and as the boys walk in the door to their home they then realize the situation that they're in. Joseph's father has Jack's parents at gunpoint and is demanding that Joseph gets into his truck and rides away with him. At first Joseph refuses and tries to convince his dad to leave, but he won't until Joseph gets into his truck. Joseph leaves with a goodbye of " I love you all, and take care of Rosey for me. " As soon as they leave Jack's parents call the police and CPS services to try and make sure Joseph father does not get away. As the truck gets chased down by the police Joseph's father starts to shoot at the police and Joseph grabs his fathers driving wheel and swerves his truck off the bridge, into the frozen river, and sinks to the bottom of the river. The book ends with a closing thought of Jack's father carrying Joseph out of the truck, that has been sunk for four hours.

I am reading “Just After the sunset” by Stephen King. A young man stands at a Wyoming railway halt. His train got derailed, his girlfriend has abandoned him for the bright lights of town the dregs of the sunset faded to orange over the Wind River mountains. He is about to discover that he's dead. Around him on the platform the other benighted travelers got together everyone is far too familiar with everyone else. Assembled here by circumstances beyond their control, they look at one another's uncertainties while the High Plains wolves howl in the darkness and the relief train brings no relief. The girlfriends name is Willa, I am unsure of the man's name, because I just started the book.

Brian the main character is in a small plane heading to his dads house in Canada because his parents are divorced. while he is traveling the pilot has a heart attack and the plane eventually goes down in a lake. while he is in the woods he encounters different challenges that are thrown at him. the setting of this book is in the dense forest of Canada near a lake. some conflicts that occur while he is in the woods is when he first crashed. the pilot had a heart attack so Brian had no idea what to do and he did not know how to drive the plane. but he saw a lake and steered the plane to it and crashed into the lake. overall this book is a good read.

The Giver by Lois Lowry is a dystopian novel about a failed Utopian world. Many years into the future, the “perfect” world with no choice, no love, no color, and no individuality was created. Each family was composed of two children: a girl and a boy. But they weren’t real descendants of the parents because there were birth mothers that their only job was to have babies and the babies would be placed in a family. At age 12, people have their jobs decided for them for the rest of their life. At the ceremony, Jonas is picked as The Receiver. His job is to receive the memories from the past before their Utopian society came to be. Things like love, snow, Christmas, sunshine doesn’t happen in their new world because there is no freedom or choice. On the first day, Jonas meets The Giver. He is an old guy that has all the memories and will then pass them on to Jonas. There are good memories and memories of pain. Jonas’ first memory he receives is of snow and sledding. But soon, he sees war and blood. He realizes that maybe the world he lives in is for the best because people can’t make their own choices and therefore make mistakes.

The book I am reading, is The Giver. This book is in a future based setting, and has been adapted to be idealistic living. All significant memories have been hidden from the general public, and left for the giver to endure. This is a blessing and a burden for the giver, because they get to experience things from love, all the way to the utmost pain. Thus far in the book Jonas (The main character who is in training to be the new receiver of memories) has received memories like family, love, all the way to hunger, and war. Overall I would definitely recommend this book.

It's about a guy and and a tiger on a boat trying to survive on a huge body of water. I have not read this book a lot but right now this book is pretty good. One interesting this about this book is this guy has the courage to live and survive on this little boat with a tiger and that would be really hard. This was one of the major conflicts in the book Life Of Pie. one other thing is that there are many other animals in the book that conflicts with this guy plus the tiger so this book has a lot of interesting parts in it but it is a very fun book to read right now. So I can't wait to finish the book Life Of Pie by Yann Martel.

The book i'm reading is "Heroine" by Mindy McGinnis. The book is about an 18 year old girl who is named Mickey Catalan. She gets into a car crash with her best friend and ends up shattering her hip bone. This is important because she was expecting a D1 scholarship for softball, but, now not being able to play her senior year, she is almost guaranteed no scholarship. Mickey ends up abusing the drug Oxycontin until the point where she feels minimal pain during practice and everything outside of her mind is going good for her. She is the only one who knows about her drug abuse besides her dealer. A grandma named Edith, steals, and then sells Oxycontin to teens for extra money. Edith takes interest in Mickey because she does not need the Oxy for fun, but more for her actual pain. Beyond that tho, Edith does not cut prices for her, nor does she give Mickey extra.

The choice book I am reading is "Uglies" by Scott Westerfield. The book starts off in a dystopian world. The world is broken up into pretty town and ugly ville. Once you turn 16, you undergo surgery to turn into a "pretty". The main character, Tally is 15 and has her surgery coming in 2 weeks. All of Tally's friends and family have turned pretty already. While still living in Ugly ville, Tally makes a new friend Shay. Shay doesn't want to turn pretty. She tells Tally about a place outside of the whole town. Two days before Tally is supposed to get her surgery, Shay disappears. Shay leaves a note behind just in case Tally decides she wants to remain ugly and live outside of the city. Little did Tally know this would cause her to not turn pretty until she exposed where Shay and this town outside of the world is. Tally is sent by the government on a long trek. She eventually finds Shay and her friends who have a whole town started. Tally sees things she has never seen before like old uglies and normal people from years ago and learns how the world used to be. Tally decides to stay with Shay, but she forgot about the tracker that the government put on her. The government gets an alert and that is where the story ends as it is a series so the next book starts up with the government finding Shay and Tally.

I am reading The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson. It is about a boy with OCD who is the last person to see one of his neighbors go missing. He has been recording everything that happens in his neighborhood and so he would know if anything suspicious is going on but the one problem is, he cannot go out to tell anyone because his OCD keeps him mostly in his room where he watches from the window but only in his house.

the book i'm currently reading is called Coraline by Neil Gaiman. This book is about a girl and her new house/ life. Her and her family just moved into a house. This house is split in parts and she has two neighborson one side, an older man with pet mice, and two older women with dogs. Coraline loves to explore. One day her dad told her to count all the windows and doors in the house and while doing that she came across a locked door in a room with old furniture. She asked her mother to unlock the door (which she did) and it lead nowhere. On the other side was nothing but a brick wall. She was very disappointing and let it be, but later that night she went down and the door was open with a path.

My book is Divergent by Veronica Roth. My book is about a girl named Beatrice in a society that divides people into 5 factions but she doesn't necessarily fit into one specific faction but she cant tell anyone that cause that would make her special which means she would be a target or a threat. She took the aptitude test which is supposed to tell you what faction you would fit best in but her results came back inconclusive meaning she fit in several factions which is very rare. People with inconclusive results are called divergent and they are usually killed cause they could be a threat to the way the society works. The different factions are dauntless, amity, erudite, abnegation, candor. Beatrice along with her brother Caleb originally were born into abnegation where they only believe in selflessness they take up a big part in government positions. At the choosing ceremony Caleb chooses erudite and Beatrice chooses dauntless leaving their parents in abnegation. The dauntless are all about risks and excitement when Beatrice joined she had to jump on and off a train and off a building into a net which she didn't know was there and then continue onto initiation. If someone didn't make it passed initiation or gave up then they would end up factionless / homeless.

The book I'm currently reading is Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This book is about power and will it shows the separation between reds and silvers. Silvers are people with silver blood and extraordinary abilities. They’re above everyone else who are reds. Reds have red blood and are seen as just regular people. Silvers are rich whereas reds are poor. Amongst the reds is a girl named Mare believes the silver are the Gods and Angels of the past who used to watch overall people but now have fallen from above and use their power for control. Reds are sent off to fight in the war as soon as their eighteenth birthday if they don’t have a job. Mare is one of these reds she’s already accepted the fact of it as jobs are hard to find when there aren’t many.

From what I know so far the book is told in perspective about a kid who plays football in a small town and his dad is a firefighter and is a hero in his town who is known as the toughest and bravest person there. But his normal life is not ready for what is about to happen with his hero of a dad who went on a call one Saturday during a game. This was supposed to be a normal call for his dad just like the many others he has been on. But the kid hears differently after the game and was soon to find out his dad was not gonna make it. He has to go through the whole rest of the season and life without his biggest hero and keep doing what he was doing.

My book is Divergent by Veronica Roth. The book is about this girl named Beatrice which she ends up changing it to Tris. She lives in a society that is divided into 5 different factions. Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor, Amity. She was born into the fraction called Abnegation. In that factor she is taught that she has to be selfless, not matter what. she has to answer kind when someone is being rude, give up her seat for others, all that nice stuff. Her older brother Caleb is very good at this. However Beatrice struggles with that. Once everyone comes to a certain age they get tested and then can choose if they either want to stay in the faction or not. Beatrice gets tested but she ends up with the result of being Divergent. Divergent means that she isn't just one faction. she acts like all the factions. At the choosing ceremony her older brother ends up choosing Candor, and Beatrice chooses Dauntless. Their parents were sad that they choose a new faction because they thought they both were going to stay with them in their faction. Beatrice leaves with Dauntless and gets to hop on a moving train and off. Beatrice felt like she belonged there and liked it so far. Beatrice was the first to jump down the hole in the building when everyone thought that a Abnegation, Stiff, would never be able to do it. After she jumped she then changed her name to Tris. Once she got shown around the place, and met Four, she finds out that being a dauntless will be harder than she expected. that's all because i didn't finish the book yet.

My book is Winter by Marissa Meyer. It’s part of a series called The Lunar Chronicles that is a twist on classic fairy tales. In this part of the series the new character “Winter” is introduced as the new version of Snow White. Except she is a lunar princess and now a fugitive. The other characters are Cinder- as Cinderella, but she’s a cyborg and also the right lunar heir, Cress- as Rapunzel but she was trapped in a satellite and is a lunar shell, Scarlet- as little red riding hood, but she falls in love with the wolf. And a few other characters who are also part of the team. In this book, they are all trying to overthrow the current lunar queen, Levana, and replace her with Cinder. They have to get all the sectors to revolt against the queen and help them raid Artemisia (the royal city). Emperor Kai, who is from earth, was bequeathed to Levana so that she may become an empress on earth and eventually kill him. She wants to use her lunar army to control earth and get whatever she wants. But they are all trapped on the moon. So far Cinder has been able to interfere with the wedding and they’re trying to stop the coronation as well. Winter and Scarlet are persuading some of the lunar army to join their cause and fight against the queen. While they were in one of the sectors, both of them caught the plague that was bombarding earth. Lunars were supposed to be immune to it but then the disease mutated and now it acts even faster in killing its victims. So the clock is ticking and they only have so much time to rally everyone to rebel and take down the queen. Everyone in the story has a different agenda and they will probably collide at some point.

The book "Life Of Pi" by Yann Martel the main character Pi was on a boat with his family as a huge storm had hit. The whole entire boat had been sinking and the family was stuck inside, Pi had then swam throughout all the water inside the ship and had made it to a raft. On the raft there had been a zebra, orangutan, and a Hyena and the Hyena had then started to fight the other animals and ended up killing both the orangutan and the zebra. Then all the sudden from under the tarp on the boat, The tiger had jumped out and had killed the Hyena that was about to attack Pi. Pi had then been terrified if the tiger and was starting to try and train it and understand what he was saying. Throughout on the boat he was building another boat to stay away from the tiger, then he didn't want the tiger to die so he had learned how to fish and get food for the tiger. He had finally trained the tiger so then it did not attack him, as a long long time on the boat had passed he seen something in the distance. They had made it to a island that was filled with meerkats and he had then slept there for a few days and then got back on the boat to try and make it to shore. The book is called “The line between here and gone” by Andrea Kane. It is realistic fiction. It is about a woman who has a very sick baby. The mother was told that the father died, but now there is proof that he may be alive. The baby needs a stem cell transplant to survive, and the mother isn’t a match. She didn’t get a chance to tell her boyfriend she was pregnant before he disappeared. A forensic instincts team is working to find the father and save the baby. It takes place in Long Island and Washington DC, during the winter. I chose this book because I like forensics, and other things like that.

I am currently reading Five Feet Apart written by Rachael Lippincott. The story is about 2 teens (Will and Stella) who both were born with CF (Cystic-Fibrosis) a life threatening disease which makes your body produce more mucus than needed in your lungs which then continues to decrease your lung function and keeps you from breathing normally. The rule is you can be no more than 6 feet apart at all times around other CFers (people with Cystic-Fibrosis). Will's case had worsened into CF with B. cepacia which means that his lung fuction was declining a bit faster than Stellas. But B. cepacia spreads through physical or direct contact, which means no kissing. When Stella first meets Will she is not a fan of him at all. But as the days go by, she grows fonder to him. Will falls for Stella the first time their eyes meet but he was determind to be her friend and hopefully more than that. Stella and Will end up falling in love. Stella realizes how much CF has taken from her so she decides to take one foot back. 5 feet apart. They both are willing to risk it all for each other. For love. The question is, will their efforts be for nothing?

My book is "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson. The character Melinda doesn't have many friends at school, she calls herself an "outcast", she has old friends that now are giving her weird looks whenever she see's them, or they're just making wrong choices she doesn't want to partake in those dissensions. It seems that Melinda has a hard time at school, she is stuck, she doesn't have many friends that she can talk to in her life, nor her parents because it doesn't seem like she has a strong bond with them, they communicate through little notes and whenever her dad ends up coming home she'll run away to her bedroom. She doesn't feel like she has anyone in her life that truly knows her or wants to be her friend for just being herself, she feels as if she has to change herself to get accepted.

The book I am reading, is The Giver. This book looks more into the future making is seem realistic and imaginable. All significant memories have been hidden from the general public, and left for the giver to endure. They get to experience things from love and the greatest pain. This far in the book Jonas, who is the main character, is in training to be the new receiver of memories has received memories like family, love, all the way to hunger, and war. I'd defiantly recommend reading this book. It makes you want to keep reading.

The conflict in her book is that she is sick, she’s allergic to the outside world. So she is not able to leave her house, the air she breathes has to be filtered, and she has to have a nurse stay with her during the day. However she gets new neighbors. A family moves in right next door and they have a son that is Madeline’s age. His name is Oliver aka Olly, and he soon becomes Madeline’s first crush. Her nurse always said that “Life is a gift. Do not waste it.” That quote gets brought up throughout the book multiple times as a reminder to Madeline. Her nurse (Carla) decides to let Olly and Madeline meet, however after a few visits Madeline's mom finds out. She fires Carla and grounds Madeline so she cannot have any contact with Olly other than standing at their windows while looking at each other and writing what they say with a dry-erase marker. Madeline has had enough with not being able to see Olly, and not being able to experience anything. So she leaves in the middle of the night, leaves with Olly and goes to Hawaii. I’m only at page 205 (over halfway done), but this has been one of my favorite books that I’ve read.

The book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson revolves around an average teenage girl who is having trouble connecting with other people. After being exully assaulted at a party, and calling the cops, she finds trouble with connecting with her classmates because they make her feel guilty because she “tattled” although they do not know the full story about what happened. When Mellie, as the main character is called, arrives at school for her first day of Freshman year, she finds that she can not seem to connect with her other friends from the previous school year. Her teachers are whacky, such as her English teacher, Mr. Neck. For example, one day Mr. Neck storms into class over the fact that his son can not get a job, and blames all of it on immigrants who come here to seek a better life. He states “My family has been in this country for over two hundred years. We built this place, fought in every war from the first one to the last one, paid taxes, and voted. So tell me why my son can’t get a job.” He later gets into a debate with a student over if his son’s lack of a job is about his abilities or what he claims. At first Mellie thought that her teachers would have no part in her success in High School until she started Art class. In Art, she found a way to express herself by drawing. So far in the book, she is working on a tree painting, and taking everything step-by-step.

The book “Woman on the Edge” written by Samantha M. Bailey is about a woman named Morgan who gets handed a baby in a train station. She also witnesses the mother jump in front of a train. “Take my baby.” I flinch at the scratchy brittle voice. That quote sets the mood right at the beginning of the book. It makes it feel suspicious and scary. The book goes between Nicole's story and Morgan's life story. Nicole is the CEO of her own company, and has lots of problems with her husband once she finds out she's having a baby. Nicole finds notes saying that she won’t be able to keep her baby safe which gives her bad anxiety, and makes her freakout. But on the other hand Morgan has had some trauma in the past with her husband that has committed sucide after stealing money. Morgan was handed Nicole’s baby in the train station, and watched Nicole jump in front of a train. Morgan had no idea what to do. It is a mystery to find out why Nicole; someone Morgan has never met before. Gave her, her child in a train station.

The book I’m reading is The Giver by Lois Lowry. The main character in the book is Jonas he lives in a community where life is perfect or is it. The community is very strange the people who live in the community are assigned jobs or as they call them assignments, they are given their assignments when they turn 12 but they don’t have birthdays, well they do just no one knows them. There is an assignment called birthmother which young woman at the age of 12 are assigned and they give birth to the people of the community for 3 years before becoming laborers but they don’t get to keep the children the adults have to apply for children, they are allowed, one boy and one girl. They also have to apply for a spouse to be married and the committee watches the people throughout their lives to pick the perfect assignment and spouse. “ “The Ceremony of Twelve,” she whispered in an awed voice.” this quote is found on the last line on page 9 and continued in the first line of page 10 this quote I feel is important because the ceremony of twelve is very important to the children of the community this is when the group of 11’s become 12’s and get their assignments.

My book is called “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie. This book is about a very poor kid that was always bullied because he “looked funny”. He has a best friend Rowdy, he has anger issues and his dad hits him. Him and Rowdy hang out every single day and love each other but don't tell each other that. Junior accidentally hit his teacher in the face with a book and broke his nose. He got suspended. The teacher forgives him but tells him to leave because he knows that he gets bullied. So he told his parents that he wanted to leave the school and go to Reardan. So Junior (main character) just told Rowdy that he is going to a new school. Junior is sad, but also happy that he is going to a new school, but he is going to miss Rowdy.

I am reading the book " The Running Man" by Stephen King. So far my book is about a 28 year old man named Ben Richards. He has no job and a very little source of money, on top of that he has an 18 month old baby who has a very bad case of the flu. He hears of a reality show called The Running Man where one man has to survive 30 days in a public setting with a team out bounty hunters out to kill him. There have been no survivors but if you come out alive you get the grand prize of 1 billion dollars. This will be more than enough to pay for top of the line health care. “Outside, daylight was bleeding slowly toward dusk.” This quote I think really shows King's writing talent. It is one of the best quotes that helps visualize so good. Overall the book is very good so far and I cannot wait to get deeper into it

The book I am reading is “speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is a young adult fiction. This book tells a story about a freshman named Melinda Sordino. She is having trouble in school, she is not interacting and talking to very many people, she is struggling in her classes. After going to a summer party and getting sextual assaulted. All because of that one stupid night none of her old friends want to talk to her or even take a glance at her. This is now turning into the worst year of her life. Life is going terrible for her right now as she has no friends. “I almost told them right then and there. Tears flood my eyes.” She is terrified to tell anyone about this and she thinks somethings going to happen to her after telling the cops. I am really liking this book and I recommend it.

The book I am reading is called The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Written by Sherman Alexie. It is about an Indian boy named Arnold that has had a lot of brain surgeries when he was younger because there was too much fluid in his head, and he transfers to an all white school named Rearden to chase his dreams. When he transfers to his new school, all of the people in his hometown hate him, especially his best friend Rowdy that he has known ever since he was born. Arnold has to walk to school some of the days because his family doesn’t have enough money for gas, but usually he hitchhikes with people driving in and out of where he lives, the rez (reservation). Something surprising that happened was that he and the popular girl Penelope started dating, so everybody likes him now. A dramatic thing that happened was when Roger (the big jock) was being super racist and Arnold punched him in the face and he fell to the ground, but didn’t hit him back and made it seem like Arnold was the bad guy. I picked this book because it looked like a book that had a lot of conflict in it.

The book title is, Refugee. The author is Alan Gratz. This book is very unique with the way it’s written, because it has 3 different characters. They all have different stories, but all have the same goal which is to get somewhere safe. Josef is a jew in Germany trying to get to the America’s, but his dad is taken to a concentration camp for doing his job that was prohibited from jews. His dad ended up escaping looking starved with no sleep or clean clothes. They ended up getting on a ship that will take them straight to Cuba. Isabel is a girl in Havana, Cuba. She lives with her mom, dad, and grandfather. Her dad tried getting to America once and got caught, then there was a riot in town over a shortage of food and her dad got caught by the police, but got let go. That was just a sign her dad needed to get to America and soon. The last character is Mahmoud. He is a young boy in the rural part of Aleppo, Syria. He is living in such havoc with bombs being dropped on Aleppo every day. Buildings are being destroyed, and one of those was the apartment he was living in. He was doing his homework one night when he could notice the sound of a bomb being dropped and before he knew it the whole side of the apartment was gone and he could see across the street. I have this one quote that I really like is “ It was like they were invisible.” It shows that they weren’t viewed as humans but viewed as nothing. I couldn’t imagine what that would be like and that really takes bravery, and it really just shows strength and that really stuck out to me.

The title of my book is "Kurt Cobain Journals" and is written by Kurt Cobain. The book is nonfiction and is a collection of journals and notebooks that he wrote dating all back to his high school years. The collection includes song lyrics, drawings that he did, letters, notes, and normal journal entries. A quote that I found very interesting and thoughtful was on page 121, it says “Thanks for the tragedy I need it for my art. Punk rock is art, punk rock to me means freedom.”. I found this line he wrote to be very thoughtful because it relates well to me, because I have certain genres of music and songs that are tied to certain events that have happened to me, especially punk rock. Overall, I am enjoying this book a lot, and it has allowed me to understand Kurt Cobain more and see what he has been through.

The book I’m reading is “The life of Pi” a novel by Yann Martel. The book has two parts to it. I am currently reading the first part. The Main character is named Piscine Molitor Patel, but he goes by Pi, who was stranded on a boat with a tiger. So far of what I have read Pi is telling you some background about his life. At the beginning of the story he tells you what his majors were in college, religious studies and zoology. He starts explaining in deep detail all about the three toed sloths. To which degree I still don't understand why. Then he goes on to explain all of the places he has traveled like Canada, India, and Mexico. Pi was named after a swimming pool. His uncle was a professional swimmer and his father loved the topic. They believed the most glorious pool was the Piscine Molitor and so that became his name. Most of the next chapter explains much about how his father worked at a zoo. It tells you how there are often misconceptions about animals and how they are treated at the zoo, and how people think they are “locked away.” The next chapter, and the final one I’ll be telling you about Is about Pi’s favorite teacher. Mr. Kumar who was an atheist.. In the book Pi says, “He was my favorite teacher at Petit Seminaire and the reason I studied zoology at the University of Toronto.” This statement proves how much he loved His teacher. Especially the fact that Mr. Kumar had such a big impact on Pi’s future. Pi felt a strong relationship with Mr. Kumar. He felt so because Mr. Kumar pushed Pi out of his comfort zone and really made him think, and apply his knowledge and beliefs into the world. That is where I have ended so far and I’m excited to continue reading the book. There is not yet a conflict given its only telling you his background, so I'm excited to see what the conflict will be. I'm very eager to get to Part two where he becomes stranded with a tiger at sea, but we must finish Part one before we can get there.

I am reading the book “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. The main character is Jonas who is living in a utopian society in which people’s jobs are chosen for them by the government. There is no knowledge of life outside or what life was like before the Utopian society existed. One person in the society possesses this knowledge. This man is known as the giver. Jonas was appointed to be the receiver of memories. Jonas first receives memories of snow. The conflict of this story will most likely have something to do with the memories that he will receive from the giver. My guess is that Jonas will receive painful memories of war, sickness, and death. An interesting quote from the book is when the giver says “I am so weighted with them,”. He is referring to memories. If I were to infer farther I would assume that he was referring to memories to do with pain and sadness. This makes the future look scary towards Jonas, who doesn’t even understand that there are places other than his protective community.

I am reading the book what light by Jay asher. So far in my book Sierra has had to leave her home in Oregon to go to her home in California for a month. This is because her family runs a Christmas tree farm and so the day after thanksgiving they have to go to California and run their farm down there for a month. It is really hard for Sierra to just pack up and leave her friends every year because she don't get to do any of the fun holiday things with them, but it is also hard for her to find a boyfriend in Oregon because she don't get to spend the holidays with him but if she gets one in California then she has to break up with him in a month. Sierra is really sad because she overheard her parents talking that it might be there last year going down to California, even though she would get to spend the holidays with her friends she would miss her other friends.

The book that I am reading right now is The hobbit written by J.R.R Tolken. The hobbit is based on a mystical creature known as a hobbit. A hobbit is like a human but a little smaller and they have huge hairy feet. The hobbit that is starred in this book is Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo lived a happy and adventure free life until the wizard Gandolf visited with his dwarf friends. When Gandolf visited he talked about great adventures with goblins, treasure and many mystical beast. Right now in the story Bilbo and his friends were hiding from a storm and had to take shelter in a cave. Little did they know that there were goblins deep in the cave waiting to ambush them. They later found out, but it was too late and biblo and his dwarf friends were captured. One quote from the book that really helps me describe Mr. bagins. “Sorry but i don’t want any adventures, thank you. Not today good morning! But please come to tea any time you like!” This shows that Biblo had a good heart, but he still didn’t want to go anyways.

The title of the book I’m reading is Perfect. This book is written by Ellen Hopkins. The story is told in a girls perspective (whose name I do not know yet). The other characters are Cara, Kendra, Sean, and Andre. The story is about so far that her twin brother attempted suicide and failed now the whole school if finding out and making assumptions about the situation. When they didn’t want people to know and start rumors. My favorite quote from the book is, “Faultless. Finished. Incomparable. People can never be these, and anyway, did creating a flawless facade become a more vital goal than learning to love the person who lives in your skin? The outside belongs to others. Only you should decide for you-- what is perfect.” Overall, this book is very powerful with word choices and the topic it is discussing right now.

He lives in a small house in some random poppy field with celia. Celia is not his real mom but is very much like a mom figure to him. He never gets to leave the house or talk to anyone besides cilea. Cilea works as a maid at some big house, and Matt always gets to hear about it and how cool it sounds. But recently these kids that own the poppy field have broken in and have taken him to their mansion. He is now in captivity of these people that own the mansion, like a prisoner. These people that are keeping him captive say ,“he is a rabid animal and a thief”, just because he is a clone. Now he is wondering when he can go back or even if he will go back.

The main character is the author and a team of other climbers that are going to climb to the summit. All the sudden when they are climbing back down the mountain a huge blizzard occurs and the team has to get through it to the bottom with wind and blinding snow, also there is no oxygen where they are with their oxygen tanks running low some of the team didn’t make it. It also talks about the previous expedition to the summit, but all of them never made it to the top because they either froze to death or ran out of oxygen. Jon Krakauer and his team were the first people to make it to the summit, but to make it down the summit was dangerous.

The book that I am Hank Greenberg, the story of my life. The genre of book is a Biography. The main character is Hank Greenberg. He is a former Mlb baseball player for the Detroit Tigers and the book just follows his life from when he was little until he retired. He grew up in new York and lived there until he was nineteen. His parents took academics very seriously and did not think baseball could be a good job in any way. He grew up playing baseball and basketball at the rec center near his house. He loved both the games but he liked baseball a little bit more. His favorite team growing up was any team in new York. He had a chance to play for a new York team but the tigers were a better fit for him because he would gain more money and playing time and he liked the coaching staff and they wanted him to play for them for a long time. He ended up being the general manager of the Boston red sox after retiring. He is known for having one of the greatest Mlb careers of all time he won numerous awards and hit many home runs.

The title of my book is “Paper Towns” by Jon Green. It is in the genre of realistic fiction. Quentin Jacobsen is the main character of my book which takes place in his small town. The story revolves around him and his admiration of Margo Roth Spiegelman. He was completely fascinated by Margo, and everything she does. She can tell he has a huge crush on her, but she doesn’t appreciate only being looked at for her appearance. The book starts off with Margo going to Quentin’s house in the middle of the night. It had been many years since this had last happened, so Quentin took it by surprise. Margo needed help getting back at her boyfriend for cheating, and she wanted Quentin to help. It took some convincing, but she was able to get Quentin to come along. They spent the night going around their small town, and checking everything off of Margo’s list. The list included apologies, and not so appreciated gifts. The time Quentin spent with Margo made him realize so much about life, and different points of view. He learned to relax, have fun, and he needs to loosen up a little bit and enjoy things, because you never know how much longer you will live.

The title of my book is Crave. The author is Tracy Wolff. The main characters are Grace, Jaxon, and Flint. The story starts with Grace moving from San Diego to somewhere in Alaska after her parents died in a car crash. Grace is a 17-year-old girl starting her new life at a boarding school in Alaska. But something weird is going on with the students here. The people here are not normal. Grace notices that they can go outside with barely anything more than a jacket, mind you it is below freezing here. And the people here have been making weird remarks like, "bite me" and "maybe I will". She also encounters a guy named Jaxon, she can sense that he is dangerous, but she doesn’t care. And as they both get closer to each other, she seems to be getting closer to another guy, Flint. She tries to figure out what’s going on between her, Jaxon, and Flint And also figure out what’s going on at the school. ““I have a name, you know.” “Oh, right.” He pretends to think. “What is it again?” “Bite me.” “That’s an interesting first name...and a phrase you might want to be careful saying around here””(Page 229). I like this quote because it gives some insight into the fact that something fishy is going on at the school. It also leaves me wondering, why? What’s going on? Overall, this seems like a great book. It’s suspenseful, romantic, and adventurous.

The book I am reading in english class as my choice reading book is called Hatchet by Gary Paul Sen. This is a summary about the book i'm reading. This book is about a thirteen year old boy named Brian Robeson. Brian was on his way to visit his father because his parents are divorced. The way he was getting there is by flying in a plane. The plane was not very big, it was just a single engine. When he was on the plane the engine had failed and the plane crashed. When the plane crashed he found himself all alone because the pilot was unconscious and it was a tiny plane so nobody was on the plane with him. The plane crashed in the canadian wilderness ACA middle of nowhere. The only thing he had was clothes and a hatchet that his mom gave him for a present. He could not just sit around and wait for something to happen. He had to go find someone, something, anything. A quote from the book hatchet “Going to die, Brian thought. Going to die, gonna die. His brain screamed it in the sudden silence” that quote was when they were still in the air right before they went down. Could you imagine what was going through brian's head. This is not what he was expecting for his trip to visit his father. So far this is a very good book. I can't wait to keep reading this book because it is so good.

Watch You Burn by Amanda Searcy is a very interesting book so far. The main character, Jenny, was sent to live with her dad, who she rarely ever saw, in New Mexico where he got a contracting job. Now, she lives in the motel and has found a secret way she can sneak out without being seen by her dad or his assistant who’s been assigned to take care of her. Jenny is fascinated by fire, the way it moves and grows. She likes starting them too, finding the perfect spot and dropping the match and watching it steadily and then rapidly build in a huge fire. After an incident back in her hometown, she has a scar on her arm from being in a fire. “My scar itches, I push the thought away but it just resurfaces seconds later. I cannot control it.” It has a constant itch to start more fires, but when she moved to New Mexico she vowed to never start another one, though that doesn’t last long. One night she sneaks out and finds an old patch of grass a long way away from any houses or people, and she lights the brush on fire. She thinks someone watched her do it. When she first meets Ro, a young girl from the poor section of town, she suspects her of being the person who saw her, but soon after she realized that Ro was innocent and possibly a very good friend. They begin to bond over a stray cat that they take care of together.

The book I'm reading is "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas. This is an realistic fiction book. This story follows a black girl named Starr. She lives in a ghetto neighborhood where a lot of bad things happen, however she goes to a fancy private school. After she is reunited with her childhood best friend at a party, he offers to take her home. A cop pulled them over and she witnessed her friend get shot by a white cop for no reason. She is trying to fight for his rights and the rights of the black community. A quote I like from the book is “ What society give us as youth, it btes them in the butt when we wild out.” I think this is very powerful because it's basically saying that no matter how hard you try to get somewhere in life people will always see you as the person you have always been, mostly referring to your skin color. I’m only about half way through this book, but I recommend it for everyone to read especially because it relates to a lot of the stuff going on in the world today.

My book is “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer. It is about a man who impacted many people's lives but lost his life in the end. The main character is Christopher Mccandless. He is one of the nieces people everyone meets. He says “make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.” That speaks to so many people on so many levels in life.

The book I’m reading is Cherub Shadow Wave the 12th book in the series. This book in the series is about the main character James getting offered a mission, which he turns down after his friend Kyle tells him about what happened to him on a tropical island in Malaysia. Kyle explains what happened to him on the island. Kyle is on the island helping one of the mission trainers, Mr.Large. He goes to a village on the island where he meets a kid named Aizat who is somewhat of a leader of the village. There is then a tsunami warning and the trainees retreat to a hotel where they stay waiting for further instructions. After waiting there for a while the tsunami doesnt come and they are given the clear, however the tsunami does hit except its small but still hits them hard the kids are knocked off their feet. This is what the author wrote, “There was a tremor and a deafening crash of glass as the wave hit the Starfish Hotel. Thousands of birds shot up out of the trees behind, as the sand-filled water crossed the coast road and rushed on into the jungle. Kyle leaned over the edge of the hotel, helpless and aghast.”

I am currently reading a book called " a brief history of time from the big bang to black holes". The genre is non fiction. This book goes through time and major discoveries of science, and peoples thoughts on the subject and key topics before we were born. The reason I picked this book is because it was different genre and style of book that I usually read and have been surprised that it has been quite pleasing so far.

Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, is about a freshman girl, Melinda, who nobody talks to and ignored due to the fact that they think she shut down a party. Melinda didn’t actually shut down the party but won;t tell anyone the truth. The book goes through her days being ignored and being hated by everyone in the school, even her ex friends. Expect one girl, Heather, who is a new student in the school and doesn’t know why everyone dislikes Melinda. “I can’t tell them what really happened. I can’t even look at that part myself. An animal noise rustles in my stomach.” This quote occurred during a pep rally that Heather made Melinda go to. Some girls behind her confront her about her shutting down the party last year, not knowing what really happened. Her home life and school life are similar in some why. Her parents argue sometimes and ignore Melinda and how she feels because she won’t talk to her parents about the “incident”.

The book Hole In My Life written by Jack Gantos is an amazing non-fiction story book. This book tells the story of how a Junior in Highschool life turns into shreds in his Senior year of Highschool. The main character was settled throughout two different perspectives. Jack, a british sailor, and Hamilton, a junior in highschool who learns the ropes of breaking the law. Jack has thought of danger, just never thought of it involving breaking the law. Hamilton as a student who would move a lot due to his family, he finally convinced his family that he could take care of himself and live on his own throughout his last two years of Highschool, only leading downhill from there towards a life of crime. Hamilton was never able to settle into a new home or even a new school because of how much he had moved previously therefore he was never able to make any friends or even settle out to who he wanted to be. Hamilton starts to remind that his own school used to be a prison and that there are still many traits of a prison at the school, where he is now being held...

The book that I’m reading is “Speak” written by Laurie Anderson. The book is about a girl named Melinda, who was sexually assaulted at a party that she attended. She called the cops, but the people in the party thought she snitched because she didn’t explain herself. During her freshman year, she struggles to talk to her parents and teachers. I’m at the part where Melinda is listening to Heather about how she messed up with an event that the Marthas were helping at. The book doesn’t really have a happy tone, but there are some moments when she’s happy. Those small moments of happiness usually happen during art class. It’s a sad and neutral tone because her ex friends don’t like her, and people still think that she snitched about the party. That is shown in the book when it said “The girl pokes me harder. ‘Aren’t you the one who called the cops at Kyle Rodger’s party at the end of the summer?’” Overall, I think it’s a good book, and that I will enjoy it as I continue reading.

I am reading a book called Prisoner B-307, written by Alan Gratz. The main character of the book is a 13 year old boy named Yanek. This book is about his story of how he survives the tortures of all the ghettos and concentration camps that he gets deported to. Yanek and his family also meet a lot of interesting people along the way. It's crazy to see how nobody could be trusted during WWII, because everyone would do anything to give the Nazis information to not have themselves killed. On page 34, Yaneks dad says “Nobody can be trusted’. This shows how nobody can be trusted.

The book I’m currently reading the book The Circuit by Francisco Jimenez. The book is about the author's life when growing up and crossing the border. As a little kid Fransico listened to his father about California. “I did not know exactly what California was either, but Papa’s eyes sparkled whenever he talked about it with Mama and his friends. “Once we cross la frontera, we’ll make a good living in California,” he would say , standing up straight and sticking out his chest.”. Francisco crossed the border with his family so they could have a better life. Once they crossed they struggled, but they did send Fransico to school. Fransico did not want to go to school because he didn’t know what the teachers were talking about. Instead he wanted to work with his parents in the cotton fields, so they could have more money because they didn’t have as much. Until he was in 7th or 8th grade they finally let him start working, and he was excited but then he got tired after a few days. This is a really good book to read because it gives a good description of how life of most immigrants in the U.S. start off.

My choice book is ‘Seasons of the Storm’, written by Elle Cosimano. ‘Seasons of the Storm’ is about four main people, Jack, Fleur, Amber, and Julio. All four are seasons of Gaia, all have once died to go to Gaia to become a season. Every year they kill each other, Summer kills Spring, Autumn kills Summer, Winter kills Autumn, and Spring kills Winter. Jack is Winter, Fleur is Spring, Amber is Autumn, and Juilo is Summer. Jack and Fleur, a Winter and Spring fall for each other, and so do Amber and Julio. They can’ t be together unless they break the vicious cycle of Gaia. On page 334 Jack says, “A perfect storm lies ahead...you can take control of it. I look at Fleur. At Julio and Amber. And in the ---in us---I see possibilities I haven’t let myself see before. Together, we are the storm.” Together they have to come to fight for what they believe is right even when they have to go against Gaia who kept them alive.

The book that i’m reading is called “Legathai: The Rise,” by Kay DeWitt and Charlie Piper. The story takes place in the future and the world climate has gone wrong. It's only deserts, tundras, and woods outside of the city and the people incharge are forbidding people to leave the city. Sofare in the story we meet three of are main characters Lena, Tyser, and 113251. Lena escaped an orphanage and is living on the street stealing from people and meted Tyser form trying to steal from her and getting caught.Tyser was part of a gange and showed Lena how to steal without getting caught and meted up at Tyser base where Lena learns that the police found the base and killed everyone except Tyser. 113251 is in a lab having testes run on him and is going insane trying to find ways to escape the lab. One sentence that shows how hard life is for people in the city is this” At least one or two people die each day from street fights alone. Not including natural death, death by sickness, death by car accident, death by house fire, or any other type of death out there. Early death in Legathai is very common.” That is the story I'm reading and it's really good. I like it so far.

I am currently reading Impulse by Ellen Hopkins. In this book, there are three main characters where each section you can see from their viewpoint. The main characters; Conner, Tony, and Vanessa, are all in a psychiatric Hospital called Aspen Springs. They all are struggling with mental issues, relationships, and their big problem is they hate being there and want to leave. They believe that they aren’t crazy enough to be in here. Currently, I figured out why they are in this hospital. Conner was so upset that his girlfriend broke up with himself that he tried to shoot himself. Tony was sexually abused by his mother’s boyfriend and he abused drugs. Vanessa has depression and has been cutting for a long time. But recently she cut to deep trying to commit suicide. Their actions led them all to meet at Aspen Springs. In the text it states “Prozac can’t help lift me out of the place i’m in now.” This makes me think that Vanessa has given up all hope and thinks she is stuck with her ways and depression. This is a very deep and sad quote.

My book is called “The long way down” by Jason Reynolds. The main character in my book is Will and his little brother Shawn has been shot. Will is trying to grieve with Shawn's death but he is struggling to process that he actually died. Shawn’s death took place in school. Everyone was ducked down and hiding under desks and once the shoots were done and the shooter left then everyone looked up and saw Shawn's dead body just laying there. Since then, it's been about two months since his death and Will and his mom are very sad and trying to grieve with his death. A quote from the book that I found thoughtful was, “When bad things happen we can usually look up and see the moon, big and bright, shining over us. That always made me feel better.” I found this quote to be thoughtful because it shows that when you're sad, the moon is like someone shining over you and lifting you up and making you feel better.

The book I am reading right now is called Speak. The author is Laurie Halse Anderson and the main character in the book is Melinda Sordino’s. My book is about this girl (Melinda) that is in high school and it tells a story on how she deals with rape through high school, there is a lot of conflict in this book because it has to do with rape and the struggle she went through in high school. A quote in the book that i really like is “When people don't express themselves, they die one piece at a time.” I like this quote because it can be hard for some people to be themself around people and I think it is a good thing to be yourself and to have self love, and if you aren't being yourself you're keeping that all in and they don't feel comfortable. but so far my book has been just her talking about her high school and how she doesn't like it so far. I think I am going to really like this book as I get more into it. This book is a good book because it shows real world problems and shows how people have to go through things that people don't realize so it helps to open the reader's eye.

But when Arnold wanted to switch to the rich kid school near his indian rez rowdy punched him and said he wasn’t going to be his friend anymore. Arnold went to this new school and he threw a book at his new math teacher and he got suspended for a week. The next day the teacher came to his house apologized to him for what Arnold did to him and then told him to move out of the rez. The book at the start is very interesting, it starts off with a kid named Junior and his family which is Indian/white, at first it just explains how the family is and how they do things. Then farther in the book, they start talking about other people like the teacher, Mr. P, and his friend Rowdy. Then that Rowdy was there with Junior since they were a couple of months old. Once Junior was at school he wanted to throw a book at something and then hit Mr. P, and he was suspended for the week. Mr. P went by to visit Junior and talk to him for a while and then he started to tell the truth about his sister, about how smart she was and what she wanted to pursuit

My book is called The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-time Indian. The person who made the book is Sherman Alexie. The main character is a 14-year-old named junior. He is a person who had grease in his brain when he was born. He has a lisp and a stutter and had 42 teeth when all his teeth grew in. Some more characters he mentioned was his mom, dad, siblings, and dog. Something interesting that happened was his dog is probably going to get put down because they don't have money for his health care. Nothing really interesting happened yet but I'm sure something will.

The book that I am reading is called The Chocolate War by Robet Cormler. The main character is Obie. He is someone that wants to play football at quarterback but keeps on getting hit and his coach thinks that he should play a different position. The first part of the book takes place on a football field and the kid keeps on getting hit and hit and hit until he can’t even stay up on his feet. The quote that I thought was really good was “coach is testing you, testing, and he’s looking for guts.'' When Obie walks out of the field he sees someone that he hates, it's Archie “look at him just sitting in the bleachers smiling.” he spends hours just looking at him in disgust. But when Archie starts talking to him he starts acting all nice and Is really weird. The book is all right I think I am going to get a new one.

The book I am reading is called All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. There are two main characters named Violet and Finch. The story takes place in a small town in Indiana. Violet focuses on the future where she can escape her small Indiana town to get away from the death of her sister, but Finch is focused on his death and how he might die. Finch and Violet meet on the school’s bell tower and they decide to be partners for the “Wandering Indiana” project. For this project, they have to explore the unique things of their own state, and eventually unique things about themselves . A quote from the book that I like is when it says,”Then I can’t hold back anymore, and I take off running, and it feels good to break free from the slow, regular pace of everyone else.” I liked this quote because I think a lot of people can relate to it in some way.

In the book The House Of The Scorpion there are many things that are happening in the beginning of the story. The story so far has many characters such as Matt and his caregiver. Matt is the main character. He lives in a house behind a mansion. His mother is made for the rich family. He is told to keep inside at all times so nothing can happen to him. One day the kids from the rich family came to explore the fields where he lived. They found out that Matt was nailed into his room with no way out of the house. Matt was told to hide if someone ever came to his window. BUt when the kids came he decided to not hide. They tried to talk to Matt but he couldn't figure out what he wanted to say. The kids left in frustration because they couldn't get a word out of matt. Matt waited for the next day to come. As he expected the kids came right back to try and talk to him. This time Matt was ready. He had practiced his lines “Hey, want to play”. The first kid arrived at the window and asked straight away if he wanted to play. “ and just like that Matts line was stolen.” Matt was puzzled. The kids wear leaving again due to the fact he would talk. Matt didn't know what to do so he jumped out the window sending glass and threw his legs. The kids rushed him to the house where he finds his mom. As you can see their are many exciting things straight away in the story.

They despise her because she called the cops at a party and got upperclassmen in trouble but nobody knows why she called the cops. The book I am reading is called Thunderhead, by Neal Shusterman. It is set very far in the future in “Mid-merica,” Which is modern day America. It is a multi-perspective book, one main character is Scythe Anastasia, and the other is “Scythe” Lucifer. Scythe lucifer really isn't a scythe but a cold blooded killer that sets out to kill other scythes that are not doing their jobs correctly. One quote that I really like in this book is, “Her pic showed a shaved head and a penis tattooed on her cheek.” I just think that this quote was really funny and it describes lots of current “trends.”

I am reading a book called The green mile. It is written by Stephen king, and is about multiple strange events that take place on death row. The book has many characters that die throughout the story, but the main character which is the narrator. Is a middle aged man that is the warden on death row. There are multiple protagonists such as a man named Brutal, and a small mysterious mouse. But there is also a antagonist whose name is Percy, and he is the son of the state's governor. Which means that the warden can not fire him, and that is the main problem throughout the story. However the main plot of the story is much different. It revolves around the mysterious mouse that won't disappear, and a giant of a man named Coffey that is responsible for killing two young women at a farm down in texas.

My choice reading book is called “Night” by Elie Wiesel. This is a Historic-Fiction book. There is a teenage boy and his family is taken to the Auschwitz Concentration camp. At this camp he is split from his mother and sister and only has his dad left. Here he is beat and works everyday no break with very little rations of food. While here he was put to work in a factory. This is where he found this part German part Jewish lady that could speak both languages. Jump ahead a few years after that is all over they meet again in the real world. Jump back to the camp and the only thing keeping him alive is that his father is alive and his golden tooth. The Germans want this tooth from him but he pleads he is sick so they let him rest until he feels better. He gets his tooth taken away and the next day the people that took his tooth died. He lost his tooth for nothing, but survived Auschwitz.

My book that I am reading is called “Bird By Bird” by Anne Lamont. Bird by Bird is about different writing styles, types, and tips. Anne uses lots of hilarious stories and metaphors to explain her points, and is constantly throwing amazing tips into her stories of her childhood. It is very helpful to me and I love the amazing intel throughout the entire book. Anne has many tips on writing in her books and some tips on life in general. The book is called bird by bird because of a story Anne remembers from when her brother was writing an essay on birds. He was getting upset because he didn’t think he could do it in time and Anne's father sat right down beside him and said “Bird by bird buddy, just take it bird by bird.” This is an amazing quote for writing and is just one of the many great examples that the book has.

The book I am reading is called “Children of Blood and Bone” by Tomi Adeyemi. The book’s genre is fantasy. Furthermore, the main character is named Zelie. She is a Reaper, which is a powerful being who can summon forth souls, and make them do her bidding. The setting is in a made up village called Orshia. It is a kingdom that was once ruled by magic, that was until the raid came. The raid was when the King stole all the people’s magic away, and killed thousands in his wake. Zelie is fighting to bring the magic back to Orshia and save her people, but how many will she murder in her path? “That was the night things got bad. The night King Saran hung my people for the world to see, declaring war against the maji of today and tomorrow. The night magic died (Adeyemi).” This quote supports the author’s ideas that magic died that night and was almost never going to come back, but Zelie is doing all she can to save it.

The book I am reading is called “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. The book is a novel and the genre is young adult fiction. Furthermore, the main character is named Starr. She lives in a poor neighborhood, which is often referred to as “ghetto”, but she goes to a school in a more wealthy neighborhood. She goes to a party in the neighborhood she lives in, then a gun fight breaks loose, so she leaves with her childhood best friend Khalil. A cop pulls them over, and long story short the cop ends up shooting and killing Khalil. The story is about how she faces the fear of her telling her story and helping give justice to Khalil's family. My favorite quote from the book is “Your voices matter, your dreams matter, your lives matter. Be the roses that grow in the concrete.” This quote means you should be different and stand up for what you believe in. I think everyone should read this book because its message is very powerful.

I am reading the book called Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is a novel and it is a young adult fiction. This book is about a girl that threw a party with friends and something happened to her. She had to call the cops even though she knew her friends would be mad at her. It was her freshman year she had no friends and she was not doing well at school. She failed a lot of her classes mostly at the beginning of the year. Melinda is the main character. The setting of the story ¨speak¨ was at the party but mostly at school. First and second trimester was hard for Melinda; she even lost her best friend named Rachel. They have not been friends since the party. This book ¨speak¨ I think is very good for people to read in middle school going into high school. This book can teach someone a lesson to have fun but be safe. I think this book so far is very good and I recommend it to people going into high school.

My book is called “The Incredible True Story of the Making of the Eve of Destruction”(Long title, I know) The story follows a girl named Laura who won a radio contest, allowing her and her step brother to be actors in a movie called The Eve of Destruction. In the story Laura is going through some family troubles. After Laura’s mom divorces his dad and marries another man the family is kind of in shambles, it still functions but it tends to get a little tense from time to time. As for the movie, the movie itself is ironically based on a book.(So we are reading a book about a movie about a book, funny isn’t it?) I haven’t gotten far enough into the story to quite understand what the plot of the movie is about. The book or movie takes place during what I believe to be the cold war era where everybody is worried about a nuclear war. And the movie being about the fallout of a nuclear warhead dropping on a town probably isn’t doing a whole lot to ease the nerves of the people in the town.

I am reading a book called “Hole in my Life” by Jack Gantos. It is an inspired autobiography based on his own life. It is an incredible story on how you learn from your mistakes to achieve your dreams, or just avoid the mistakes in general. Jack Gantos is the main character, he is a junior in high school and soon not going to be in school at all. It starts out by him leaving his family to live with his friends. He ends up having more freedom than he knows what to do with and no supervision so he ends up going down the path of drugs, crime, and everything else that goes along with that. After spending 6 years in prison, he learns from his mistakes and takes on his dreams of writing books. He is always unsure what to write about so he takes his experience and writes about his mistakes and teaches other people how not to go down the same path as him.

The book I am reading is called "Watch You Burn" and it is by Amanda Searcy. The books genre is fiction, and the main character in this story is Jenny. Jenny moved away from her home in Ohio to live in New Mexico with her father. They live in a motel by the woods and Jenny is very creeped out, because she thinks the motel may be haunted. She moves to Ohio because she needs to avoid the cops, who are on a search for her. The narrator Amanda states: "I let this match burn down to the tips of my fingers before I drop it. Then I do it again and again." This quote is important because it shows how Jenny sets fires. This could be a possibility as to why the cops are onto Jenny, or it may have something to do with the reason, which is starting fires.

The book i am reading right now is called “speak” by Laurie halse anderson. The main characters name is Melinda. She doesn't have many friends anymore because of what happened over the summer. Her old friends are giving her weird looks and doing stuff she doesn't want to do. She calls herself a “outsider” because she doesn't have many fiends and is not apart of any group or “clique”. She is having a hard time in highs school with trying to fit in and have good grades she is really struggling. She doesn't have many friends to talk to about her problems. She wont talk to her parents about it because they don't have a strong bond. She feels like she has to change to be able to fit in, and she feels like she has to change everything about herself to fit in with the crowd.

The book I am reading is called “This is Not a Test” by Courtney Summers. It is a fiction book about a zombie apocalypse. The main character is a 17 year old girl named Sloane who used to live with her older sister and abusive father before her sister moved out, leaving her alone with him. She is with him when the apocalypse begins but runs as far away as possible. Two boys named Rhys and Cary find her laying in the middle of the road, waiting to die. She later thought I wish they had never come for me. I only moved because they were so hooked on saving me. But I didn’t want to be saved.” She goes with them to the school where they and 3 other teenagers find a shelter from the people outside. They do not all get along very well and a boy named Trace blames Cary for the death of his parents. This creates a lot of tension in the group while they are trapped there waiting for other survivors to find them. They all have to work together to keep the doors shut and the zombies out of the school.

I am currently reading “Insurgent” by Veronica Roth. It is of the Dystopian genre. It is the second book in the Divergent series and is about Beatrice's journey through a time where factions lead the government and the conflicts between them. So far Beatrice has released all the Dauntless from a serum that causes people to be in a simulation, which was allowing its leaders to control them to kill all the people from the faction called Abnegation. Beatrice is now struggling emotionally after the loss of her parents and friends. Amity, the faction of kindness, takes the refugees in and decides to let them stay but with rules to keep the headquarters safe. Then Beatrice hears an Abnegation leader, Marcus and the Amity leader, Johannah talking. They say, “‘A long time ago, the Abnegation were entrusted with some sensitive information,’ says Marcus. ‘Janine attacked us to steal it. And if I am not careful, she will destroy it, so that is all i can tell you.’” Then after hearing that Beatrice tells Four, her trainer what she heard.

I am reading the book “Maybe Not” by Colleen Hoover. This book is a short story off of the book, “Maybe Someday.” It's rather short but a great book to read. The genre is fiction. This is about a new roommate who comes and lives with Warren, which is the main character. The roommate is a girl named Bridgette. She's very sassy and has a big attitude when it comes to Warren. There is lots of love and pranks in this relationship. Warren can’t decide whether or not he wants to be with Bridgette. He says “I feel like I’m two different people right now. I’m a guy who finds his new roommate insanely attractive, but i’m also a guy who can’t stand to be around his new roommate.” This book takes place in Ridges (Warrens other roommate) apartment for most of the time. This book is great for someone who likes romance books. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I am currently reading the book “Looking For Alaska” by John Green. The book is about a boy named Miles Halter aka “Pudge” who goes to Culver Creek boarding school and makes friends. He becomes friends with his roommate who they call “Colonel” and all of Colonel’s friends, Takumi, and Alaska. Pudge falls in love with Alaska who has a boyfriend and tries his best to impress her. Then Pudge is introduced to Lara, a pretty Romanian girl who has a crush on Pudge. Pudge and Lara start dating. Then a few days later Pudge hangs out with drunk Alaska and cheats on Lara. (SPOILER) The next day Alaska is in a car accident and dies. Pudge and Colonel are blaming themselves for letting Alaska leave while she was drunk and emotional, while they are also trying to figure out what had happened. So far I really like the book, I give it 4-4.5 stars. “How will we ever get out of this labyrinth of suffering” is a question that gets brought up several times throughout the story. At the beginning of the book, Alaska asks Pudge about the labyrinth, and then after she dies the question gets brought up again in an attempt to figure out what happened to Alaska and what she was thinking before she died.

The book I am currently reading is named “burn our bodies down” by Rory Power. I haven't gotten far as I just started yesterday. But so far it is about a 17 year old girl named Margot, she lives in a poor little apartment above an old bright teal colored market. Her mother is a touchy human. She does not treat Margot very kindly and she for some reason has an obsession with watching Margot light a candle before she leaves for work. Margot has become interested in her past. More specifically her family's past. Margot’s mother will not open up at all about Margot’s grandparents. Margot wants so badly to find her family's past. She wants to know who they are, what they do, where they live. Mainly because a part of her wants to get away from her mother while the other part is curious. So far this is a very good read and I'm eager to read the rest.

The book i am reading right now is called “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson. The genre of the book is a novel and young adult fiction. The main character in my choice reading book is Melinda Sordino, Melinda Sordino Is a freshman, her freshman Year is off to a horrible start. She busted an end of the summer party by calling the cops, and now her friends and even strangers all hate her. The setting in The book Speak is in Syracuse New York and mostly the book is when she's in school and at the party. My favorite quote in the book is “When people don't express themselves, They die one piece at a time.” This means that you should always be yourself because when you're not you act like a different person and might feel insecure on the inside and it might hurt you in ways so it's always good to be yourself. I think everyone should read this book because stuff can happen in real life and it's good to hear about it and know what things could happen in life and being in tough situations.

Ask me how I got here by Christine Hepermanin. The gener is young adult fiction. Addie is a high school student at Immaculate Heart Academy and is dating a kid named Nick. Addie was on her school cross country team until Addie and her boyfriend Nick did the dirty and Addie gets pregnant. Sadly Addie and Nick make the decision not to keep the kid and have an abortion, and seeing how see goes to a pritvite religious school she wishes for know one to know. After all that Addie went though she didn't want to run cross country anymore because she just couldn't bring herself to get excited about anything anymore. When Addie quit the cross country team she does everything she can to lie to people so that she doesn't have to tell them that she has quit. So the conflict in this story so far is to have the abortion and make sure that know one finds out.

The book is “speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson. So far the book is about a girl that goes to school but not many people like her because she called the cops at a party last summer but no one knows the reason why but people hate her for doing that, until they find out why. Its also hard for her to make friends and get good grades. The genre of this book is realistic/ nonfiction because this story could definitely happen in real life. The main character is Melinda Sordino. The setting is mostly at school or at her house. The main conflict is how not many people like her because she busted a party last summer. Something dramatic that happened in the book is that all of Melinda's old best friends told her that she hates her so that made Melinda (the main character) sad. Overall the book is pretty good. I would recommend it.

I am currently reading a book called “Into The Wild” by Jon krakauer a true story. The main character is Chris McCandless who is in his 20's. The genre of this book is non fiction. The book follows the main character trying to survive in the Alaskan wilderness, and the following event in his life that led up to him trying it. The main character is convinced he can survive the alaskan wilderness and ditches all things he has in life. Donates all his money to charity, and he even ghost his own family. He goes in with only a limited amount of supplies until 4 months later he is found dead. If I had to give this book a rating I would give it a 80/100 so far. My book is called “BO”. It is written by Bo Schembechler and Mitch Albom. It is about Bo Schembechler’s life and his coaching experience with many different colleges. He was a very good coach with many colleges but he got a head coaching job at The University of Michigan and he was the best there. It is also about his life as a child and an adult. After his head coaching job at Michigan he was the athletic director at Michigan. So it talks about when Michigan went to the national championship for basketball and they won it in 1989. During all of his coaching career he had some health problems. The night before one of his Rose Bowl games he had a heart attack and he couldn’t coach the next day. But he came back and kept on coaching for many years later. He had a very successful coaching career.

I am reading “The Chocolate Wars,” by Robert Cormier. It is set at a high school named Trinity. It has many interesting things that are wrong with it. There is some kind of weird vibe to it, because there is a group of upperclassmen called the Vigils who can pick any person in the school and assign them a dirty task and get away with it. The school allows this to happen because they say that it keeps the school in line and doesn’t let any students get too big for themselves. The Vigils is led by a kid named Carter, but Archie is the popular one who assigns the tasks. The main character of this book is named Jerry, he is a new kid to the school and is on the football team. He thinks the school is messed up, especially when he gets assigned his first task. His task tells him that he is not allowed to sell chocolates for the school chocolate sale. This gets weird looks from people and makes one of his teachers mad. That is the main challenge that he is facing.

The book I am reading is called “P.S I Still Love You”, by Jenny Han. The genre of this book is fiction. The main character is Lara Jean, and she is on winter break at her house with her two sisters and her dad when she finds out that a private video of her and her boyfriend Peter somehow is all over the internet and everyone at her school has seen it. She suspects that her boyfriend's ex Genevieve had something to do with the video because she is still very jealous of Lara Jean, but Peter disagrees, and Lara Jean has to put it aside to hope their relationship doesn't end up like Peter and Genevieve. Lara Jean is also going through a transitional time in her life because her older sister Margot is going to college in Scotland, and Margot has been the “mother” to their family since their mom died when they were all very young, so Lara Jean has to take on a bigger role in the family. The quote, “People come in and out of your life. For a time they are your world; they are everything. And then one day they’re not” (Han). This quote supports the idea that all the people in Lara Jean’s life that she hopes to have forever will not always be there.

My choice reading book is “We Were Liars” by E.Lockhart. The genre of this book is fiction. The main character in this book is named Cadence (Cady). This book takes place on a private island. In the summertime the perfect Sinclar family lives on this private island off the coast of Massachusetts. This book shows what can happen to a wealthy family with just one mistake. Cady is part of the group called the liars. The liars are Cady, Mirren, Johnny, and Gat. When Cady was 17 she had an accident and cannot remember what happened. Cady asks her mom everyday what happened because she can never remember. One day Cady decides to write down what happened on paper and tape it to her ceiling, so she can never forget. A quote from the book is “I remember only this: I plunged down into this ocean, down to rocky rocky bottom, and I could see the base of Beechwood Island and my arms and legs felt numb but my fingers were cold.” This quote explains that Cady had an accident but only remembers hitting the bottom of the ocean and going numb. Overall I would rate this book 4 stars. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fiction that has a twisted ending.

My book is called “Winger.” It is written by Andrew Smith. It is a fiction book. In this book there is a rich kid named Ryan dean but everyone just calls him winger. He goes to a private school where other rich kids go. He plays rugby and he is a 14 year old sophomore. He is in O hale which is where you go if you're a bad kid. His roommate is a big senior who also plays rugby but hates him. He was moved to O Hal for stealing a teacher's phone. He gets bullied a lot because he is only 14 and 3 grades ahead of where a normal 14 year old would be in high school. The setting is mostly at his school or in his dorm room. In his school there is a girl that he really likes. She runs with him in the morning and there are very good friends but Ryan wants to be in a relationship with her but he thinks he is too much of a loser to get with her.

The book I am reading is ‘’There’s Someone Inside Your House‘’ by Stephanie Perkins. In the book so far the main charterer is a girl named, Makani Young! She lives with her grandma as she moved from Hawaii, where her parents live. Nobody at the school knows what she did when she lived in Hawaii. There is a murderer in town, and they are killing people that go to that school. Nobody has a clue who is doing this! Her friends and family are all scared because they don't know who is going to be next, as the murders keep getting more gruesome… she is forced to reveal her own secret and step out of her comfort zone. My favorite quote from the story is ‘’All of them being shouted at, how does it feel to know you that your son’s killer is still at large, she shook her head.’’ This is my favorite quote because she is super upset that the news is asking all the questions right after their son, the star football player was killed. She wanted to help but she couldn't.

The book I am reading is “perks of being a wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky. It is a nonfiction book written by the main character Charlie in a series of letters addressed to a friend. It takes place in the suburbs of Pittsburgh during the 1990’s and follows Charlie through his sophomore year in high school. It starts off with a school assembly because a boy named Micheal Dobson killed himself while his mom was playing a board game at a neighbors house Throughout the book, Charlie talks about his life and day to day struggles. Like how his sister has a secret boyfriend who hit her, and how the girl he has a crush on doesn't like him back. “Perks of being a wallflower” talks about life and death, and the struggles of being a teenager. So far it's a good book and isn't that slow in the beginning like most books.

The book I've been reading is the chocolate war by Robert Cormier. It is a book about Jerry Renault. He is a student at the roman catholic prep school and he must face freshman hazing practices handed down by the vigils, a group of powerful students. When brother Leon pushes his students to sell chocolates for a fundraiser. The head of the vigils, Archie told Jerry he could not sell any chocolates or Jerry would get punished by the vigils and Archie got Jerry to refuse to sell the chocolates but he got put up against the vigils and the school staff. I would give this book a 3 because it is a good book but it gets kinda slow. “The world was made up of two kinds of people ... victims and those who victimized.” I like this quote because it describes how the vigils ran the place and how they talked all the kids into doing these assignments.

The book that i am currently reading is “Words We Don't Say” by K.J Reilly. The genre of the book Word We Don't Say is young adult fiction. High school junior Joel Higgins volunteers at a soup kitchen every Wednesday, in part to fulfill his community service requirement and in part to spend time with Eli, the girl he’s loved since seventh grade. Unlike Joel, Eli believes in God and also that she can fix anything if she tries hard enough. Instead of telling Eli or anyone else about his feelings, Joel writes but doesn’t send text messages on his phone to Eli, his best friend, Andy, who died of leukemia last year. Through his messages, Joel declares his love and struggles for solutions to the problems that weigh on him. When he meets Rooster, a homeless veteran with PTSD, Joel’s obsession with helping him leads him down an irreversible path of progressively greater challenges.

The book that I am reading is part time indian, It's a diary and a funny cartoon book. It's like a diary of a wimpy kid on steroids. Unior is a buddy cartoonist growing up on the spokane indian reservation. Born with a variety of medical problems, he is picked on by everyone but his best friend, determined to receive a good education, junior leaves the rez to attend an all-white school in the neighborhood farm town where the only other indian is the mascot. Despite being condemned as a traitor to his people and enduring great tragedies, Junior attacks life with wit and humor and discovers a strength inside of himself that he never knew excited. Written with a raw emotion by acclaimed writer Sherman Alexies, THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF THE PART-TIME INDIAN, the boy is trying to rise above the life everyone except him has to live.

The book I am reading is called “The House of the Scorpion” by Nancy Farmer. In this book, there is a boy named matteo (Matt for short). Matt lives in a small house with his mom/guardian Celia. Celia is a cook at “The Big House” and she brings the leftover food back home to eat. Celia told Matt to never leave the house and scared him into thinking there were Chupacabras at night time. One day, a couple of kids find the house and see Mat on the inside. THey try to talk to him but he doesn’t talk back because he is scared. The next day, the children come back and Matt jumps out of the window and gets a bunch of cuts all over him. The children carry him to the big house and a maid and the doctor try to help him with his wounds. A man comes in the room and sees that it says, “Property of El Patron” so he yells at the workers to throw him outside. El Patron is a very rich guy and uses little pieces of his skiing to make clones of himself.. Matt gets locked up in a dusty room full of chicken litter. El Patron visits and he is released back to Celia.

The book I am reading is called “City of Ashes” by Cassandra Clare. This is the second book in The Mortal Instruments series. The book’s genre is fantasy. There are a lot of characters in this book, but the main characters are Clary, Jace, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, and Luke. Jace, Isabelle, and Alec, are Shadowhunters, they kill all of the demons. Clary was what they refer to as a mundane, she got pulled into the world of Showhunters, demons, and all things she thought were just fantasy stories. Simon was Clary’s best friend, and got turned into a vampire. Magnus is a Warlock which is someone who practices witchcraft. Luke was Clary’s mom’s best friend, and a werewolf; he has known Clary her whole life. Jace and Clary, have just found out that they were related. Their dad who Clary had never met, and Jace had never known was his dad was Valentine. Valentine is a horrible person who has done horrible things. Now, they are trying to find all of The Mortal Instruments before Valentine can, so they can save all of the regular people. My favorite quote from the book is, “Maybe it was true what the Seelie Queen had said, after all: Love made you a Liar.” This quote is very important to the story, I think it shows that Clary is starting to understand more about herself. I think anyone who likes fantasy would like this book.

The book I’m reading is called the Chocolate war by Robert Cormier. It’s about a kid in highschool whose mother died 3 years before he moved he went to highschool. The beginning of the story starts off with the main character Jerry trying out for the highschool football team as a quarterback. But the only thing is that Jerry is getting hit every play, but he keeps getting back up, showing that he is tough and has grit. Jerry ends up walking off the fiel beat up and limping, which then brings in the next person in the story, Archie. Archie is an upperclassmen at Trinity highschool and he is also a part of the elite society at his highschool called “The Vigils”. The Vigils give out tasks to students of trinity to keep the students in line. Where I’m at right now is when The Vigils give one of the students Goober a task. Goober slightly unscrews all the screws in the furniture in the most hated teacher at trinity. But out of all the chaos at trinity Jerry feels like him and his dad live square, boring lives. One quote that sticks out to me in the story is when Jerry asks his dad how work went he responds with “fine” but then jerry thinks about it and then says this “I mean, everyday I ask you how things are going everyday and you say fine. Don’t you have some great days? Or rotten days?”, I thought about this quote because Jerry is really starting to think about how boring his life is since his mom died. And it's kind of sad because before he thought his life was so much better than what his “square” life actually is. This is the summary of Chocolate War by Robert Cormier so far.

I am currently reading the book called “Scythe”. The book is about a far future time where natural death is no longer a thing and you can be revived if you die from an unnatural cause. The main characters of the book are Citra and Rowan. They are regular teenagers that are in highschool and they both get the opportunity to be a scythe apprentice. A scythe is a person that has an immortal life and they are the ones that control the human population. If you are killed(gleaned) by a scythe, that is the end of your life time and you can not be revived. A scythe can show up at any time to glean you and does it based off of certain things. A scythes family is immune from being gleaned for as long as that scythe is alive. Scythes can grant immunity to whoever and they are respected very well and can do whatever they want when they want.

The book I'm currently reading is “The house of the scorpion.” The genre of the book is fiction. The book is about Matt being a clone of El Patron. In the book there's a kid/clone named Matt. There's also a maid named Celia. She is taking care of Matt. She doesn't want Matt to go to the outside world. I'm at the part where some kids find their house and Matt inside of it. Matt kis nervous because he’s never seen other kids before and he hasn't had any human interaction with anyone except his caretaker . He finally has the courage to speak to them and breaks the window, asking if they could play. He gets injured in the process and the kids take him to their house to get help. The reason why I picked the book was because the title seemed interesting.

The book that I am reading is called “Hole In My Life” by Jack Gantos. The main character in “Hole In My Life” is named Jack Gantos like the author's name. The reason for that is because the author is writing about the events that took place when he was younger. In the story Jack moved around with his family because of his dad's business. He then moved to Florida by himself to finish highschool. During that his family had moved to St. Croix. Jack moved there with his family and worked for his dad's business. One day he is approached by a man who wants crates with false bottoms so they can smuggle drugs. When the man comes back Jack is offered ten thousand dollars to sail the drugs from St. Croix to New York. Being a young kid he leaped at the opportunity to get ten thousand dollars and went off to sea.

The book I am writing about is called “The chocolate war” by Robert Cormier. This book is about a new student who got assigned a task to not sell chocolate for the school. He goes to a cathloc school, who sells chocolate to make money. There are many different characters who have many different personalities. For example one of them is a teacher at the school who takes the chocolate sale very seriously. This teacher wants every student to sell 50 boxes of chocolates. In this book the main character plays QB for the football team. He struggle sometimes because the coach puts so much pressure on him. He had to scrimmage the varsity team and try not to get killedIn the school there is a lot of drama going on all the time. There are fights, damages, and also bad shenanigans. I like this book because a lot of action is going on all the time.

The book that I have been reading is “Hole in My Life,” written by Jack Gantos. This book is centered around Jack Gantos, as this is a nonfiction book written by him to describe some things that happened when he was younger. At the start of the book, Jack’s family is moving away, but Jack wants to finish his senior year at the high school he was attending. His parents decide to let him stay with his friend’s family and then leave. Jack has never had this kind of freedom before, and he ends up getting kicked out because he becomes an alcoholic. Jack used to be doing very well in school, but with this untold freedom, he begins spiraling out of control, barely graduating with a passing grade. After Jack graduates, he starts roaming around, with little money to his name, and following his dream to become a writer. Jack runs into a guy at a hotel and they become friends, in a way. His friend got Jack into smoking weed, which could a the turning point in Jack’s journey downhill. Later on, Jack gets a job on an island where he produces shipping crates. One day a man shows up and asks for a crate with a hidden compartment. Jack obliges and later agrees to take the cargo up to New York. I would give this book a four-star rating as it is pretty interesting for a nonfiction book. I think a thoughtful and foreshadowing quote is “I never thought dope would lead to trouble, and I certainly had no idea it would land my ass in jail.” This quote really adds a sense of foreshadowing and gives the reader a peak of what is to come.

I am reading “The Fault in our Stars” by John Green. This book is realistic fiction set in a small town. The main character is named Hazel who has cancer. Her life is the same. She spends time with her parents, and reads. This is up until her mom suggests that she goes to a support group. Here, she meets Augustus, who also has cancer. Augustus and Hazel become really good friends and a relationship ends up forming. They share their love for books with one another, and one of their favorites called An Imperial Affliction brings them to Amsterdam to meet the author. The main conflict of the story is the cancer they both have and the death that is inevitable. One of my favorite quotes from the book is when Hazel says, “Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.” I feel like this quote can mean a lot of different things to many people. It’s so broad and leaves you thinking. This book teaches readers to not take things for granted and that not everything in life goes the way you want, which is a very important theme.

My book is called “Below The Surface” written by Tim Shoemaker. It is a fiction/mystery book. The main characters are Cooper, Gordy, Lunk, and Hiro. It takes place in Wisconsin, on a lake. This book is number 3 in a series called “The Code Of Silence,” I haven’t read the first two books but so far, you don’t need to read them in order because they explain what happened in the other books if you read “Below The Surface.” In this book, the character, Cooper is dealing with a PTSD problem because of what happened earlier in the year. Hiro however, is put into what they call Cop mode because she tends to get deep into her investigations, whenever she has one, and this one is a big one because the kids all seem too have witnessed what they think is a murder. Gordy and Lunk are trying their hardest to have a good, relaxing summer with Cooper and Hiro, but are having a hard time because Cooper and Hiro are distracted with their own things, Cooper’s panic attacks, and Hiro’s investigation that Cooper is starting to believe. I give the book 4 out of 4 stars so far.

The book The Outsiders is about a boy named Ponyboy growing up in a midwestern town in the 1960’s. He lives with his two brothers named sodapop and darry because his parents died in a car crash. The kids in his neighborhood including him are considered “greasers” and get jumped and harassed by a gang from the west side of town called the socs. The book starts with Ponyboy getting jumped by a group of the socs, but luckily his brother and the rest of the greasers were able to save them. One night Ponyboy and a boy named Johnny were attacked by the socs but one thing led to another and one of the socs ended up getting killed. Then Ponyboy and Johnny had to run away because Johnny was wanted for murder. They ended up running away to an old abandoned building in a different town.

Summery the book the absolutly true diary of a part time indian Junior tells about his early life on the Spokane Indian reservation. Even today, other Indians on the reservation bully him and call him names like “hydrohead.” Junior’s best friend, Rowdy, often promises to protect him, but Rowdy’s own violent tendencies sometimes prevent him from being all that helpful. Junior’s parents are alcoholics and his sister, Mary, spends all her time in the family basement. Junior loves drawing cartoons, and many of his drawings are included in the book. Rowdy is extremely supportive of Junior’s art, and Junior thinks this proves his and Rowdy’s friendship.

The book I’m reading is called “The Incredible True Story of the Making of The Eve Of Destruction by Amy Brashear. This story actually happened and was a real event. The story follows a girl named Laura. Laura wins a radio contest and gets to be an actor in the movie “The Eve Of Destruction”. The story takes place in a town called Griffin Flat in the Cold War era. There hasn’t been a lot of conflict so far in the story(I haven’t finished reading it yet), but the most prominent conflict is the conflict between characters, some don’t get along, and others tend to cause problems. One of the characters, a girl named Astrid, is the bane of most of the characters' existence. In fact, most characters can’t wait for her death scene in the movie. A quote supports this statement: “They too were excited to watch the fire engulf Astrid. It was Christmas morning for these people.” However I assume a much larger conflict will arise later in the story.

My book is called "Turtles All the Way Down" this book so far is about a girl and her best friend and there trying to investigate a situation where someone went missing. There in apple bees right now and they found some of Davis's social media and when he posted and when he stopped posting. He stopped posting on his blog when his dad went missing. Some of the stuff he posted from his blog were a bunch of quotes for example, "The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." --William James I thought this quote was I found this quote very reliable in meaning because life is all about challenges and there's always 2 paths you can take the easy way, or the hard way. One being more stressful than the other but it will always lead to a good outcome which is why I think this quote is very thoughtful.

The book I'm reading is "Burned" by Ellen Hopkins. The genre is young adult fiction. The stories follows a Mormon girl in high school named Pattyn. She has an abusive father and starts to doubt her beliefs. Later on she dates this boy and her father catches them together. He tells them that they are never allowed to see each other again. However, at school Pattyn tries to secretly still date him but he rejects that offer. She gets upset and throws her backpack through a window. Her dad finds out and sends her off to his sisters house. She is treated much better at her aunt's and meets a boy who treats her right. They fall in love over the summer. But after summer she has to go back to high school and he starts college. She returns home and talks back to her dad and starts getting abused again. She eventually finds out she is pregnant and tells Ethan ( the guy she loves ) to come pick her up. People at school overhear and her mom finds out. Ethan picks her up to get her out of her abusive house hold and they get in a car crash. The book states " I'm sorry, honey, said a nurse. He didn't make it ". This was when she finds out he didn't make it and neither did her child.

I am reading “Abraham lincoln vampire hunter” by seth grahame smith. This book is realistic fiction set in the late 19th century. The main character is Abraham lincoln. So far what I have readed from this book is Abraham was hunting a turkey and mist the head and hit it in the neck that made the turkey fall and flap about in the snow which traumatized Abraham. It traumatized him to the point that he would never kill a living thing again. When Abraham brought the turkey home his family ate the Turkey while he lived off bread and water for a week. That is all i have read of this book so far.
