STUDENT EXAMPLE: The book I am reading is called “City of Ashes” by Cassandra Clare. This is the second book in The Mortal Instruments series. The book’s genre is fantasy. There are a lot of characters in this book, but the main characters are Clary, Jace, Simon, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, and Luke. Jace, Isabelle, and Alec, are Shadowhunters, they kill all of the demons. Clary was what they refer to as a mundane, she got pulled into the world of Showhunters, demons, and all things she thought were just fantasy stories. Simon was Clary’s best friend, and got turned into a vampire. Magnus is a Warlock which is someone who practices witchcraft. Luke was Clary’s mom’s best friend, and a werewolf; he has known Clary her whole life. Jace and Clary, have just found out that they were related. Their dad who Clary had never met, and Jace had never known was his dad was Valentine. Valentine is a horrible person who has done horrible things. Now, they are trying to find all of The Mortal Instruments before Valentine can, so they can save all of the regular people. My favorite quote from the book is, “Maybe it was true what the Seelie Queen had said, after all: Love made you a Liar.” This quote is very important to the story, I think it shows that Clary is starting to understand more about herself. I think anyone who likes fantasy would like this book.

The book I’m reading is Eldest by Christopher Paolini. It is the 2nd book in the Inheritance Cycle series. It is about a farm boy named Eragon living in the medieval times in a fantasy world called Alagaesia. Eragon is surprised when a blue stone appears before him in the woods while hunting for his family. Eragon returns from the woods and takes the stone back to his farm where he lives with his uncle Garrow and his cousin Roran. Later, the stone opens up, revealing a baby dragon inside. When he touches it, he is marked on his palm with silver. The mark of the legendary Dragon Riders called a gedwey insignia. The Dragon Riders was a pact formed thousands of years ago between elves and dragons so that they might live more harmonically. Now a Dragon Rider and driven by revenge for the murder of his uncle Garrow, Eragon sets of on a journey with Brom, a former Dragon Rider and is trained with the art of magic and swordsmanship. The murderers Eragon is chasing are foul creatures called the Ra’zac, servants of the almighty king of the Empire, King Galbatorix. After failing to hunt down the Ra’zac, Eragon goes to the Varden, an organization with one sole purpose in mind: to combat the Empire. Eragon joins them in their efforts and is a powerfully ally as he is one of the rare legendary Dragon Riders. Saphira(Eragon’s dragon) says to him as they are discussing who should be the next leader of the Varden: “We’re obliged as dragon and Rider to make a public choice regarding the next head of the Varden.” I thought this was interesting because Eragon is placed in such a powerful position just for being a Dragon Rider.

I'm reading the book called A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket. This is the 8th book of the series. Klaus, Sunny and Violet are on the run from Count Olaf who is trying to get the Baudelaire children's fortune. But in this book they are running from the cops because Count Olaf framed them for murdering him. So now the Baudelaires are trying to find proof that they did not murder anyone. So they go into this hospital with these club members that they think Count Olaf is a part of. So once they get into the hospital they get called to work in the library and they take the offer so they can try and find information about Count Olaf or about someone close to him. Once they get in there they start to look around for clues about the club or about Count Olaf. A quote from the book is “It is one of life's bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are getting really interesting.” This is thoughtful because when things do get really interesting you sometimes tend to spill the truth about something. Even when you don't mean to. That truth will hide until something bad happens or when things get really interesting.

The book I am currently reading is called “The Tattooist of Auschwitz”. It is a story by Heather Morris. It is a book about a prisoner who became the tattooist of the infamous concentration camp auschwitz. His name is Lale. It shows how he felt in his position there and his relationships with the other prisoners. It also shows how he was different from the other prisoners. Some examples are that he gets more rations, and he can leave auschwitz supervised with permission. The main character is very logical but makes irrational choices sometimes. He also is very brave he sneaks many things past the guards there knowing if he is caught he will die. Another interesting character is Baretski; he is a German officer assigned to supervise the main character Lale. He is very antagonistic towards him and often ridicules and makes fun of Lale. But after spending a lot of time with Lale he opened up and started talking about his personal life and even snuck a pen and paper in for Lale. Lale also has a love interest named Gita. She came in one day to get her number tattoo that every prisoner has and met Lale. After that Lale sent a letter to her as a greeting, when they met after they talked and he learned her name is Gita. Overall i would rate this book so far a 2.5 out of 4 stars

The book I am reading is called “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. It is the first book in a two book series following the realistic fiction genre. There are several main characters, including Starr Carter, the main character, Lisa Carter, Maverick Carter, Khalil, Chris, Hailey, Seven, Sekani, and Maya. The story takes place in a town called Garden Heights. The main plot point occurs after a party at the very beginning of the book. Starr is attending the party, and sees that Khalil, one of her childhood friends, is there as well. They start talking, but soon gunshots go off, so Khalil takes Starr home. While Khalil is driving her home, a police officer pulls them over, and asks them to get out of the car. Khalil doesn’t want to cooperate with the cop, but Starr begs that he does. Eventually, while Khalil and Starr are waiting outside of the car with their hands on the vehicle, Khalil begins to open the passenger door, and is shot three times by the cop. The rest of the story details how Starr deals with this trauma, and how the people in her town seek justice for Khalil. A quote that I think encapsulates the book very well is found on page 53, and reads “‘Why does it always have to be about race with you?’ Uncle Carlos Asks. “Other races aren’t killing us nearly as much as we’re killing ourselves.’ ‘Please. If I kill Tyrone, I’m going to prison. If a cop kills me, he’s getting put on leave. Maybe.’” This quote does a good job of summarizing the main point of the book, which is the argument of whether or not race was involved in Khalil’s death. From what I have read so far, I would rate this book a three and a half out of four stars. I think the topic it deals with is very relevant to today’s world, and the book is very well written, especially in its dialogue. I think it is a book that everyone over the age of 14 should consider reading.

The book I’m reading is Sooley written by John Grisham. This book is a realistic fiction and is about a basketball player. The basketball player nicknamed Sooley lives in Africa and has the chance to go tryout and play for a basketball team in the United States. As he is training and getting closer to the tryout date the gang violence in his home village is getting really bad, and he doesn't want to leave his family but he knows this is how he can help his family. Sooley goes to tryouts and makes the team. He travels to America and plays pretty well. While he is in the states his home village gets attacked… leaving his dad dead, brother missing and mom and sister stranded. Sooley is devastated but his coach knows he will only get killed if he lets his player go back home. Sooley is offered a scholarship to attend and play basketball at college. With troubles at home and being alone, what will Sooley do? In the book on page 24 the book says” The ambush happened so fast it must have been carried out by a group of experienced thieves.” This shows that conditions were not good and that Sooley needed to get to the states. Overall I give this book four stars and think it is a very good book.

I am reading the Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. It is a realistic fiction novel. The main character is Junior, he is facing a hard conflict. He's getting harrassed and bullied because of his looks and how he talks. This whole story takes place in an Indian reservation. As of right now I would give this book a 3.8 star rating out of four. Summary of the book so far, Junior is being made fun of and picked on because of his looks and speech impediment. He is trying to get out of the Indian reservation and go to a “white school”. He wasn't old enough to work in casino’s so he had no way of getting away from people that would make fun of him. But he did have his best friend Rowdy. He is bigger and stronger than all the kids on the reservation. He would always be the one that would stand up for Junior. A quote from this book I thought fit the summary so far is “I looked goofy on the outside but it was the inside stuff that was the worst”. He is basically talking about how bad he feels on the inside and how the kids that make fun of him really hurt him not on the outside but the inside

I am currently reading the book Sadie by Courtney Summers. Sadie is a thriller novel about a small town called Cold Creek where a girl named Sadie went missing. Later on, the town is frightened after finding out what happened to her. The main character’s in this book so far are West McCray, Carl Earl, and May Beth Foster. For a while the town of Cold Creek wondered where Sadie was, or if she was even still alive. This book takes place in Cold Creek Colorado. I’m not too far into the book yet, but so far a man has called 911 after spotting a nearby fire burning down an old church. The 911 operators tell him to not move close to it, and to wait for further instruction. A quote from the book that I like was, “There's a quiet to it that's startling if you’ve lived your whole life in the city like I have. Cold Creek is surrounded by a beautiful, uninterrupted expanse of land and sky that seem to go on forever.” I like this quote because it gives a good description of what Cold Creek is like. So far I would rate this book a 3.5/4

The book I’m reading is Woodlawn by Todd Gerelds. This is a true story about racism in the state of Alabama and it’s schools. The main character in this book is Tandy Gerelds and he is going to an all white school and he is an African American young kid. He gets bullied, treated poorly, and disrespected. Tandy comes home crying every night to his parents because he is just getting bullied. Some examples of what’s happening to him are food getting dumped on his head, shoved into lockers, can’t do certain activities, and teachers grading unfairly. All this racism isn’t just in the whole school though it’s in the whole state of Alabama that is dealing with this problem. An important quote I found in the book Woodlawn is “ For whatever reason, the administration separated the black kids; they were required to face whatever lay ahead of them on their own.” This quote showed a lot because it shows how bad our world was with segregation to different skin races. It is very sad reading all of the racism and how everyone was not treated equally. Also this quote showed he is just a boy with no harm trying to learn like everyone else but he can’t because of his skin color. This is very sad on how our world is like this to people. I am just at the part where Tandy is going back to school with his parents to talk to the principal about this big situation that needs to be fixed immediately!

The book I'm reading is Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys. Salt to the Sea genre is historical fiction. Salt to the Sea takes place in WWII and its about four different people who come from different places running from the Soviets trying to get to Germany and get onto a ship and get away somewhere safe. The main characters are Alfred, Emilia, Joana, and Florian. The main thing happening so far is the road they were traveling on just got bombed and Florian got separated from Emilia, Joana alongside the rest of the people they were traveling with. Alfred is part of the crew on a ship that's going to have many refugees get on and leave and is working on the ship to make sure that it happens. So far what I think of the book is that it's really good. I'm 115 pages in and it's getting pretty interesting and intense. One of my favorite lines from the book has to be when Florains father said “Not a traitor to your country. Much worse. A traitor to your soul” and the reason for this is because Florian was brainwashed by Dr. Lange who used Florian for his skill for knowing what's real and fake art and amazing photographic memory and Florian now realizes this and is out for revenge. So far I'd rate this book four stars out of four because I'm really enjoying it.

The book I'm reading is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. The genre of The Hate U Give is young adult fiction and it's a novel. The main character of my book is Star because all these things keep happening to her friends. Another person they keep bringing up is Khalil because he gets killed when he was with Star at a party. The main plot of what I’m reading right now is that Star lives in this poor neighborhood but she attends this rich/fancy school. Something interesting that happens in the beginning of the book is that someone gets shot for no reason.Khalil and Star left the party and the cops pulled them over because they thought they had drugs in their car. But in real life Khalil was just trying to Star home from the party. In my opinion I like this book because when I keep reading it keeps getting interesting. In The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is about this girl named Star that lives in a poor neighborhood but Star goes to a fancy school. Star doesn't like going to parties but she ends up going to this party and sees her friend Khalil there. The cops come so goes with Khalil but when they were driving the cops pulled them over because they thought Khalil had drugs in the car. Khalil checks if Star is okay and then the cop shoots Khalil for no reason. One quote in the book “You can destroy wood and brick, but you can’t destroy a movement”. This is meaningful because your voice matters, your dreams matter, your lives matters.

The book I am reading right now is called, “Orphan Monster Spy” by Matt Killeen. The book is historical fiction based in Germany during the beginning of World War II. The main character is a girl named Sarah, who is a Jew. Jews were Nazis Germany’s main enemy during World War II. Sarah’s mom died while they were trying to escape Germany in the beginning, she then had help getting onto a Ferry to be going out of Germany. But when the SS were going to arrest the man who had helped her escape, she rescued him from the SS Nazis. The man she saved name was Jeremy Floyd, he then took her to his home in Berlin, the capital city of Germany. Which was swarming with police officers looking for Jews to arrest, and Sarah being a Jew, it was very dangerous for her to be there. But the man helped her hide her Jewishness with clothes. While she was staying at his house, she discovered a secret room which looked like a room that belonged to a British spy. Mr. Floyd, when he returned from running an errand. He questioned her about what she found in his office without her telling him what she found. He then recruited her as a spy. She is now staying in an all girls school, trying to get close to one of the girls there so she can help Captain Floyd break into her home. A quote I like is, “No, this is how you finish, by going through the program. You know where the edge is. You know what it is, therefore it cannot hurt you. Finish the move, Follow through. Don’t stop.”. I like this quote because she keeps repeating to refer to being a spy a lot like acting on a stage. That’s because everything she is doing is just an act, and she had years of acting experience with her mother.

The book that I am reading is The Land Of Stories, The Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer. It is the third book in The Land Of Stories series. This book is in the fantasy genre. There are two main characters, Alex and Conner, they are twins. The book series started when the twins got a book from their grandmother for their birthday. The book started glowing and somehow Alex transformed them into the place where the land of stories is. The twins' dad died but he and their grandmother are actually from the fairytale world. All of the books in the series are about different problems and situations that happen during their time in the fairytale world. This book in particular is about how Conner goes on a trip for school to go to a reading a cemetery was having, there were stories that the brothers grimm haven't ever shared with the world. One of the stories was a warning in disguise and Conner had to warn the fairytale world from an army that was going to attack the fairytale world. Conner needs to find out if a portal to the fairytale world is open because if it isn't they have nothing to worry about but if it is they're in big trouble. He is accompanied by a girl named Bree that was also on the school trip and they both try to find the portal. While that is happening Alex is having her own worries joining the fairy council and for a while she has no idea that something very bad may be coming their way. “In truth, the only thing pressuring Alex was Alex herself. It felt like ages since she’d experienced a true adventure. She craved the fear of getting caught and missed the thrill of being chased.” I find this quote from the book very thoughtful because it is about adventure and how she missed it. I think it is very emotional because she has had so many adventures and practically saved the world in some of the other books and in this book she really hasn’t done much of that yet.

The book City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare starts with a girl named Clary Fray at a club with her friend Simon, Clary watches someone follow a boy into a room with knives and so she follows them getting her friend Simon to go get club security when the Simon gets to the room after Clary she finds out only she could see those people and that boy was a demon later she saw one of those people again whose name is Jace she also got a call from her mother telling her not to return home Clary doesn’t obey her mother and goes home anyway only to find her mother missing, her house trashed, and a demon, the demon had attacked Clary but she took something from Jace and she jammed the object that she stole down the demons throat and killed it but not without getting stung by the demon in the process Jace had saved Clary and brought her to the other people. I would rate this book 4 stars I think it's a great book and despite the many characters and creatures to keep up with it's easy to understand and keep up with I would recommend it for people who like reading large books and series’.

The book I am reading is called “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. This is the first book in the hunger games series. The book’s genre is adventure science fiction. The main characters are Katniss Everdeen and Gale Howthorne, they become the two people that are playing the game. The game is a survival game, you have to hunt to survive. Katniss’s 12 years old sister, Primrose, gets called and it’s her first time being there. Katniss is 16 and has entered her name four times and hasn’t got called once, and the same with Gale but he has entered forty-two times. I give this book a ranking of four stars, it explains everything as if you were there and it keeps you hooked about what’s gonna happen next or soon. The quote that I like most is “I protect Prim in every way I can, but I’m powerless against the reaping.” This quote was one I liked because Prim is Katniss’s weakness, if Katniss lost her you would probably lose Katniss too, I just like how it shows that strong bond with her and her little sister. That’s important especially with the world they live in, with losing your loved ones to the reaping.

The book I am reading is Identical by Ellen Hopkins. This book is a stand-alone and can be classified as realistic-fiction and as poetry. The main characters in my book are two identical-twin sisters named Raeanne and Kaeleigh, each sister has many conflicts - person vs. person, person vs. group, and person vs. self. So far throughout the book we can see that Raeanne and Kaeleigh are polar opposites based on personality. Raeanne’s a huge rebel, she is smoking marijuana, she is drinking, she is having underaged sex, and she is a bully and enjoys humiliationg people. On the other hand, Kaeleigh is a much more obedient student and as she is a lot less impulsive than Raeanne. She thinks about the consequences of her answers for questions - especially when she fears what will come of it, “If only I could say yes, Ian, get close to me. But it’s a place no one should ever be, and it would be cruel to let him think I'm strong enough to say yes I need you.”. Raeanne does not care about the consequences for any of her actions or words, she lets them roll on out while Kaeleigh fears for how she’ll affect the other person. Another difference between the two is that Kaeleigh fears the men in her life and Raeanne craves attention from them. Kaeleigh had missed the bus home one day and one of the teachers offered a ride, she was terrified of him and wanted to say no. But when Raeanne saw her being dropped off she was jealous as she wanted that teacher’s attention. There are many more aspects of the book that follow similar themes, I personally love it however it might not be for you if you cannot handle reading themes of predators, underage smoking, underage-sex, eating disorders, and other heavy themes.

The book I am reading is The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, a novel written by Sheman Alexie. It is a first-person narrative novel by Sherman Alexie, from the perspective of a Native American teenager, Arnold Spirit Jr, also known as "Junior", a 14-year-old promising cartoonist. This book talks about Arnold's life and how hard it is being a Native American without wanting to fish and hunt to do Indian things, but instead want to learn, be a writer, and go to school. But Arnold struggles with getting bullied. On page four it says “ Everybody on the rez calls me a retard about twice a day. They call me retard when they are pantsing me and stuffing my head in the toilet or just smacking me upside the head. “ But there is one thing that makes Arnold feel safe and that's a pen. On page six it says “ So I draw because I want to talk to the world. And I want the world to pay attention to me. I feel important with a pen in my hand. I feel like

During the late Middle Ages, in rural England, a new class emerged which consisted of men who held wealth and property but didn’t have titles of nobility. Artisans started taking surnames after their professions. The first recorded Franklin, or Frankeleyn, (meaning freeman) was one Thomas Franklin. He was born around 1540 as the soon to be great-great-grandfather of Benjamin Franklin. He, and his descendants, were said to have an independent spirit. They were willing to defy authority but not so much as to become zealots. During the time where it was illegal to have an English translation of the Bible, he kept one under a stool where it was easy to pull out and read, and even easier to hide when authorities were around. His son, Henry, spent a year in prison for writing some poetry that “touched the heart of some great man.” His son, Thomas II, displayed traits that would soon become synonymous with Benjamin. He loved reading, writing, and tinkering. He also practiced chemistry and astronomy. Now, his son, Josiah Franklin, was born in 1657 in the town of Ecton (where his great-grandfather was). He brought his first wife, Anne Child, into America (Boston) for the generic economic and religious reasons many immigrated to America for. He became a tallow chandler and became involved in the Puritan church.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD The book I'm currently reading is called The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien. One of the genres of The Lord of The Rings is fantasy fiction. The story is narrated by an anonymous person, and told in the third person. The main character that I would like to say is Frodo or any of the people from the fellowship except for Gandalf (the book would have been a lot longer otherwise). Some of the most recent conflicts are when the Ents take control of Isengard after they get mad at Saruman for what he did to them. The other conflict would be the fight that broke out at Helm’s Deep when orcs attacked them and there was a long battle with part of the fellowship in which they won. The setting that I am currently in would be when they are in the ruins of Isengard after the Ents brought it back to how it used to be. The main plot is that they are trying to destroy The Ring that is very powerful because they don’t want it to fall into the hands of The Dark Lord Sauron. The quote from this book that I like is “‘You move me, Gimli,’ said Legolas. ‘I have never heard you speak like this before. Almost you make me regret that I have not seen these caves.’” I like this quote because earlier in the book Gimli describes a beautiful cave and Legolas is surprised that he has not seen it. The way the J.R.R. Tolkien wrote moved me because somethings in life that you have never said before out loud might be the thing that you care about the most, as represented in this quote. A brief summary of the book is that the fellowship got broken up into three groups, one group of two hobbits find tree people, whose names are Ents and they help them, and decide to take back Isengard. The group of an elf, dwarf, human, wizard (sort of) head to Theoden’s golden halls and talk to Theoden and then he and some of his soldiers join the part of the fellowship, and then they ride to Helm’s Deep where they have a battle. Also at Helm's Deep they talk to the king there and then he also comes along with soldiers to Isengard where the Ents are, and when they arrive the two hobbits that went with the Ents find the other part of the fellowship. That is how far I have read so far. I would rate this book so far a 4/4 for readers that would like to read a book for sometime.

The book I’m reading is called Dry by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman. This is a realistic fiction book. This book has many viewpoints and perspectives. I’ve read Alyssa and Kelton’s point of view so far. However there are more characters than just these. For example. Uncle Basil, Alyssa’s dad, Alyssa’s mom, Garret, Hali Hartling, Kelton’s dad, and Mr. Burnside. This book takes place in Southern California. Arizona and Nevada just backed out of the reservoir relief deal. Meaning the Colorado River won’t reach California anymore. This leads Alyssa and her family to search for water. Alayssa goes to Costco with Uncle Basil and her brother, Garret. They look for bottled water all around the store, only to find one pack. But when Alyssa goes to pick it up Hali’s mom takes it. Hali and Alyssa fight over who had the water first, knowing Alyssa was the rightful owner. Hali and her mom take the water and Alysaa and her brother search for more. Suddenly, they get the brilliant idea to buy ice. It’s just frozen water! After grabbing many bags of ice other customers follow along, grabbing ice bags. They try to push the ice in their shopping cart, but it’s too heavy and the shopping cart is broken. A man comes up to them claiming he can help push the cart. They gratefully accept the man's offer. However, when they get to the checkout the man expects ice in return for his help. Then, Uncle Basil saves the day. He comes just in time and scares the man away. Alyssa and her family put the ice in the car as people watch eagerly. They drive home and start putting the ice away, when their neighbor Kelton comes by. He offers to help put away the ice, but Alyssa is hesitant. She lets him help. They put the ice in the bathtub. Kelton shares about how his family has 35 gallons of water. Kelton and his family are very prepared and ready for the world to end. One quote that stuck out to me was “I go to hand him the ice, but as I hold it out to him. Something comes over me, and I can’t seem to let go of the bag. “ I think this quote is important to the story. I think this because it shows how hesitant people are getting, wanting to protect their water.

The book I am reading is called The Book Thief. The story of a little girl named Liesel. Liesel was a little girl that lived during the times of World War II. After a tragic event she is left homeless with her little brother. Liesel and her brother take a train in hope to meet her new parents. In the midst of all the trauma she has been dealing with her brother dies due to the cold. Soon she was taken in by two foster parents and raised by them. Then at her brother's funeral Liesel discovers a book that had been left behind The Gravedigger's Handbook. At night Liesel would wake up screaming and crying because of a repetitive nightmare. Liesel and her father start reading her stolen book every night after she wakes up from a nightmare. Her father has little reading skills too but together they manage. As Liesel and her father read the book, she slowly begins to understand the words and learn to enjoy the book. Liesel soon becomes friends with all the kids in the town of Molching, Germany. Soon after she moves with her foster family World War II begins. Also Liesel started school and knowing the title of the book of course she steals a book from her classroom library to read with her dad. I would recommend this book to all the historical fiction lovers out there.

The book that I am reading is called A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World by C.A. Fletcher. This is a solo book and doesn’t have any sequels. This book's genre is a dystopian suspense type of book. The main character’s name is Griz and his family are supporting characters in the start of the book. The world has been destroyed by some sort of virus and people are disappearing left and right. All he has left is his father, his brother and his sister and of course his dog. When his dog Jess gets stolen from him overnight by a horrible thief, he goes on a quest to find him. When the thief steals his dog he goes on a very dangerous mission to get him back alone. And when it’s the end of the world dogs are the best thing you could have by your side. When Griz faces this conflict to get his dog back he has to go through several different and challenging obstacles to get his dog back. This book is already full of a lot of action and some sadness along the way. He is very close with this dog and that is why it makes it so much more suspenseful. It makes it so suspenseful because of how attached you are with these characters.

I would give the book a 3.4/4 stars so far. I think this book is very well made and so far it has given me a ride of suspense action and lots of emotion. I think a very important quote from the book so far is " I realize how mush time I used to spend with my head in a book, filling the emptiness of my world and letting the pages distract from the darkness in the shadows behind me." I think this quote is very thought out and is wonderfully written.

The book I am choosing to read is called Looking For Alaska. It falls into a young adult/novel genre. The book takes place in the life of Miles Halter, his life takes place in his hometown in Florida. But as he is fascinated by people’s last words all over the world, he then wants to attend a boarding school his father attended before him. He goes into the new school with the last words of François Rabelais “ I go to seek a great perhaps.” As his parents drive him to school he then meets his new roommate Chip or known as the colonel. As he settles into his dorm, and sets boundaries with Chip he then meets Alaska. In which he is suddenly taken by her. ALthough she's known for her risky and rule breaking personality, Miles seems to not care the slightest about it. Days go by and there are conversations between all of them ( Alaska, Chip, Miles). Until one night a group of guys game inot Miles and Chips' dorm and grab Miles. Surprised and still druggy Miles isn't terrified although he's questioning why a group of guys grabbed him and dragged him out into the lake. As the group of guys give him instructions to stay still they then duct tape Miles and throw him into the lake. Miles then has to do a series of maneuvers to get back to the shore without drowning. As he walks back into the dorm the Colonel is furious as the guys were not supposed to have duck taped him, because this was a nightly routine those guys did to newcomers. So now they are on the hunt to find out who grabbed Miles.

The book that I am reading is “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. This book is a novel. The main character’s name is Starr. Other character’s names are Khalil, Starr’s mom, Starr’s dad, Kenya and Chris. Some of the character’s are Starr’s family, and some of them are her friends. In the beginning of the book Starr was at a very busy party, but then they heard gunshots. After that Khalil and Starr left the party. On the road police pulled them over because one of their headlights was not working. They made Khalil get out of the car and they searched him for drugs, they found nothing. Starr was trying not to freak out. After that Khalil moved and went to check on Starr, who was still in the car, but before he even finished his sentence the police shot him multiple times. Khalil died. Starr was in shock as more police cars and ambulances came. Starr went in an ambulance even though she wasn’t hurt so that she could wait for her parent’s to come get her. Starr knew that her mom was going to be worried. That night Starr couldn’t sleep well. This book is about police brutality. So far I would rate this book four out of five stars.

The book I’m reading is called “Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire” By J.K Rowling. This is the 4th book in the Harry Potter series in the fantasy genre. The main character is Harry Potter. This book takes place in a secret wizarding school called Hogwarts. During his time at Hogwarts an evil dark wizard called Lord Voldemort is trying to kill Harry during his time at Hogwarts. The main plot point occurs when a non-wizarding citizen walks into this old abandoned house that has had its lights on every night for about a week. He went to the abandoned house and was eavesdropping on lord Voldemort and his lackey talking about their plan to kill Harry Potter during his time at Hogwarts. He gets caught eavesdropping on them and lord Voldemort ends up leaving the guy alive and continues the conversation which i thought was interesting. I would have to give this book a 3 star rating so far. I think that the book is pretty good so far Because there is a lot of suspense on what lord Voldemort was planning on doing to kill harry during his time at Hogwarts. I would recommend people to give this series a try.

The book I’m currently reading is “Hole In My Life” by Jack Gantos. The book genre is fiction, and the main character I believe is the author Jack Gantos. The story takes place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jack and his family move to San Juan, Puerto Rico. There isn’t good schooling so Jack becomes an electrician for the time being. After a while his parents and him think it’s best for Jack to move back to Florida and finish highschool. His dad set up a place for Jack to stay, but he was quickly kicked out due to his drinking. Jack started living in a hotel and decided to pick his life back up. He begins writing again and sorting through his journals. His dream is to become a writer. He was waiting for something interesting in his life to happen to write about it. “When the day came when something interesting did happen to me, I’d be ready.” That’s a quote from Jack waiting for something interesting to happen to be able to write about it. From what I have read so far I would give this book a 3 out of 4. It has kept me interested and wanting to read more, but it also has some unclear parts which I can’t tell if the author is doing on purpose or not.

The book I'm reading is Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is about this girl who's a freshman in high school and trying to fit back in with her friend group back in 8th grade. But to her it seems like everyone that she was friends with are not the same anymore so she really doesn't know what to say or do when she wants to talk to them but can't. The main character in the story right now is the girl who's a freshman in high school. In the book they have not given out her name, the gene of my book is dramatic. She also said this in the book that had really caught my attention ‘’Nothing. The clubs are are stupid here. Want some popcorn?’’ The reason that caught my attention was how her friend Rachel asked her what we should do as an after school sport or club or anything she can list off the top of her mind. And I was thinking maybe the reason she said that was because she wanted to be involved in the beginning of the story. Now she doesn't want to after she got into a disagreement with Rachel in the bathroom.

The book I am reading is called The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This is a story based on true events that took place quite recently. It’s main character is a black teenage girl named Starr. One night Starr goes out to a party where she meets Kahlil, who is her childhood friend. As Kahlil and Starr are catching up they suddenly hear gunshots. Kahlil drags Starr away from the party and into his car, as they are both driving away from the party a cop pulls them over for unknown reasons. Starr’s parents once taught her rules about how to treat police officers: keep your hands visible, don’t make sudden movements, and only speak when they speak to you. Khalil however, broke all of those rules. The officer positioned Khalil so that he was pinned against the back door so that he could search him. After he finished, he walked back to his portal car. That’s when Khalil broke the second rule; he made a sudden movement, that’s when the officer shot and killed Khalil. The media gets a-hold of this event and twitter is filled with stuff like RIP Khalil messages and insults to the police, but none of them know the details unlike Starr. A quote from the book is “I always said that if I saw it happen to somebody, I would have the loudest voice, making sure the world knew what went down. Now I am that person, and I’m too afraid to speak.” I like this quote for many reasons, first because it's a realistic approach, second because it develops the plot, and third is because it tells a lot about the character.

The book I’m reading is Scythe by Neal Shusterman. Scythe is an adventure/thriller novel about a conflict-free world where humans have conquered death, elected scythes must control the human population. The main characters in this book so far are Citra and Rowan Terranova. Later on, Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice a scythe. Neither of them want to become a scythe and master the “arts” of taking lives, knowing that one mistake can mean losing their own. I’m not very far in the book yet, but so far a scythe enters the Terranovas home for a meal. Citra’s younger brother Ben talks to the scythe about how he did a school report on scythes and how he has him in his scythe card collection. Ben shakes in fear asking if he’s here to glean one of his family members, but the scythe just wants dinner. After dinner the scythe grants Citras mother immunity from gleaning for one year. A quote from the book that I like was, “Then the scythe moved to the door, the knife still in his hand, leaving no question as to the method of their neighbor’s gleaning.” I like this quote because it gives very good descriptive details telling how the scythe moved over to their neighbor to glean them. So far I would rate this book a 4.25/5.

The book I'm reading is The Chocolate war.by Robert Cormier this is a book based on a group of people in a high school called trinity the Virgils. They assign an assignment to people that wouldn’t usually do something like that. Later in the book they give an assignment to a freshman whose mom just died. He plays football and is just starting and learning how to be better and how to play sport. They give him an assignment to not sell any chocolate in the sale. He accepts this in an attempt to avoid a beating by the virgils. They attend a school where they have brothers as their teachers. In the book they have to avoid the upperclassmen and try to stay undercover as they try to avoid tasks because they are super dangerous and they could get them suspended or maybe even expelled. Where I am now in the book he has been rejecting the chocolate sale and denying chocolate from the brothers. People have been trying to join him and not sell any.Even though his task has ended he doesn't want to sell any chocolates so he decides to keep going and maybe not sell any chocolate at all for the whole event.”Every morning Leon calls the roll and every day this kid a freshman, sits there, and won't sell the goddamn chocolates” i feel like this quote matches the book because the character that is his point of view life.

The book I'm reading is The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. So far this book has been pretty good, but it has been a little bit slow so we’ll see how it goes. This book is a novel in the young adult fiction genre. The main character is about a boy named Jerry. First it talks about him trying out for the biggest position on the football team which is the quarterback. “ Coach is testing you, testing, and he’s looking for guts.” I chose this quote, because I play football and I need to work on not being afraid of getting hurt when I play. Anyway, the coaches were not very happy with Jerry, because he is skinny, short and not very good at throwing the ball. They said he could maybe play tight end, but he wasn’t very happy with that. Even after the mental tragedy that he had, he also has to deal with a school that has a group called the Vigils. They give assignments to people and if they don’t do the assigned assignment they would have really bad things happen to them. For Jerry he is told to not sell any chocolates in the annual trinity school fundraiser. To him it didn’t seem like a big deal but it escalated a lot from there.

The book I am reading is called The Mark of Athena. The story starts with immediate actional prologue view what happens a tiny bit later and there are few main protagonists perspectives of the story so far like Annabeth a child of Athena and Percy, Piper and Leo starting with annabeth they were on there way currently to new rome when they were forced to stop by Terminus so they got off the ship and meet up with Reyna the leader of new rome. Shortly after the meeting and leaving before the romans shot down the ship called the Argo ll she had heard a mysterious prophecy from Ella a harpy who has an incredible memory for books and told annabeth that “wisdom’s Daughter walks alone” “the Mark of Athena burns through rome,” “Twins snuff out angel’s breath, who holds the key to endless death. Giants’ bane stands gold and pale, won through pain from a woven jail.'' After hearing the prophecy Annabeth and her friends(the main protagonists) go on a journey to solve the prophecy where they are currently on their way to salt lake in Utah. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy and Greek and Roman mythology.

The book I am currently reading is called “The Chocolate War” by Robert Cormier. The book’s genre is fiction. There are many characters in the book, but the main ones are Jerry and Archie. The main conflict is between Jerry the protagonist in the story, and Archie the antagonist. The story takes place at an all-boys Christian school. Archie is the leader of a group called the Vigils. They give students in the school assignments to do pranks or bad things to the school. If they don’t do the assignments, something bad will happen to them in return. For example, Archie gave the school’s best wide receiver a big assignment to unhinge every screw in a room. The next day when the teacher was teaching a class, everything fell and crashed to the floor. Goober didn’t want to do the assignment but knew he had to in order to not get hurt. Here is a quote to prove this, “You tell anybody about this and you’re through at Trinity. Got that?” The teacher that taught in the room was never the same after the incident, and the new teachers who taught in the room were afraid it would happen again. The main plot of the story is when the school’s quarterback Jerry gets an assignment from the Vigils to not participate in the big chocolate sale the school has every year. It’s a problem because every student in the school sells chocolates, and he gets shamed by his teacher Mr. Leon over and over again. He proceeds with the assignment at the beginning, but later in the story, he starts to revolt. I would rate the book a 3/4.

I am reading “The Giver” by LOIS LOWRY. The book's genre is a novel/ fiction. There are a few characters but the main ones are Jonas, Asher, Lily and Jonas and Lily's parents so far. This book is mostly about a society that is all kept in a certain place. In society they have certain rules to follow and obey by. If they don’t then they are released. When it says released I don’t know if that means die or just kicked out yet. I think it means that they get kicked out of the central area and become bums or poor or something. I haven't read too much of it so I don’t know what’s going on outside of society. I also know that at 12 they become adults and get there own jobs to live by. “What is his comfort object called?” I find this thoughtful because in society they get things to make the kids feel comfortable. They get things like stuffed animals, toys and even bicycles.I rate this book a 2 so far because I am not too far into it but I think it is pretty good and will get even better.

The book I am reading is called Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy. One of the genres this book falls under would be Dystopian Fiction. The main characters as of now are Katniss Everdeen, Gale Hawthorne and Peeta Mellark. The storyline takes place sometime after the 21st century, and according to the first book, has been going on for 74 years. The trilogy is about a society split into 12 Districts (previously 13), that all live under the jurisdiction of the Capitol. The Hunger Games serve as a means of entertainment for the capitol and it’s citizens, while also serving as a reminder of the power that the Capitol has over the 12 Districts every year. One of my favorite newlyfound quotes is, “I examine the girl’s face, which is bright red from the cold. Her teeth are crooked and there’s a strawberry birthmark over one of her chocolate brown eyes.”pg 140. I like this quote because it shows how smooth the transition of explanation of detail is in this book.

The book I am currently reading is The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. The Hobbit is the prequel to The Lord of the Rings series. The Hobbit is a fantasy book that takes place in a land called the Shire, and is about a creature called a hobbit whose name is Bilbo Baggins. One day Bilbo starts a conversation with a wizard named Gandalf. During their conversation, Gandallf talks about finding someone to join his adventure. After hearing about an adventure (something hobbits don’t particularly like), Bilbo quickly ends the conversation and rushes inside his hobbit hole. As soon as Bilbo was inside Gandalf scratched a message on Bilbo’s door. The next thing Bilbo knows there is a whole band of dwarves at his house, and then he is off on an adventure. He is on an adventure through the Wilderland to reclaim the dwarves' families treasure from a dragon named Smaug. On their adventure so far the band has narrowly escaped being eaten by trolls and enslavement by goblins. I would give this book a 4 out of 4 stars because it is a well written book with a lot of adventure and creativity in it. One quote from The Hobbit that stuck out to me was “He was thinking once again of his comfortable chair before the fire in his favourite sitting room in his hobbit hole, and of the kettle singing. Not for the last time!” This quote from the story sticks out to me because it is said many times throughout the story and creates a bit of foreshadowing that it only gets worse. Overall, The Hobbit is a good book that is worth your time to read.

The book I am reading is called “Orphan Monster Spy” by Matt Killeen. This is the first book in the Orphan Monster Spy series. It is a historical fiction book. The main character is a 14 year girl named Sarah who is half German, half Jewish. Her father was Jewish and was taken by the Germans and her mother was German and was killed attempting to escape with Sarah. She tries to hide on a rooftop and is seen by someone watching an airship that passed, however she escapes into the night and finds an abandoned building with running water. Sarah turns the lights on and drinks for a long time. When she turns around, she realizes she left the door open and the man was watching her. The man turns out to not be the bad guy, but speaks to her for a moment, fixes her nose, and leaves. Confused, but exhausted Sarah attempts to sleep, but has no luck. When the ferry horn goes off in the morning, Sarah gets on board through her dramatic acting skills. A man, attempting to board, had soldiers coming after him and not allowing him to board. Upon closer inspection, Sarah realizes it is the man who she met the previous night. Sarah once again, becomes the actor her mother taught her to be and saves the man. From there, they go to a cafe and get something to eat. They make plans to board a train for Berlin and she gets them on board. A good nap later and they have arrived at the man’s apartment. Sarah sleeps for a while, and wakes up and bathes. She walks through the apartment, slowly getting more and more suspicious of the man. Breaking into his study reveals plans for an airship and many other things. A secret compartment then reveals the weaponry and the variety of other spy equipment the man has. Sarah confronts him about it and they agree to form an alliance. Though I have not read a lot in the book, so far I would give it four stars. I have really enjoyed the book so far. It is interesting, suspenseful, and dramatic. A quote from the book I find interesting is “It’s about control.” It doesn’t seem like much but it really just explains what people find the point of life is. In this time period of the book especially, it means a lot. Overall, I really am enjoying this book.

The book I am reading is The daughter of the Siren queen. It is the second book of the series about the daughter of the Pirate king. The genre is adventure and fantasy. There are many but the main characters are the Captain (Alose), Riden (prisoner/Alose’s lover), Vordan (prisoner). So far this book is about getting a map to find this treasure on this Island that is guarded by the sirens, ruled by her mother. Alose's team of pirates have successfully gotten the last bit of the map for her father. With the extra prisoner they have to move Riden who is in an infirmary. So she has to talk to him again, she hasn’t talked to him in two months. So they are currently talking. Alose is picking on Riden. But Riden is some of the only ones who can identify when she is using her siren powers. So she can’t really use any of her powers. I haven’ read that far yet. I am currently on page 20.

I would give this book a 3.5/4

Because I’m in english class and have to read a book, I chose to read Weird Melvin by Marc Hansen. Weird Melvin isn’t your typical book, it can be judged as a comic and or a graphic novel. It stars the titular Weird Melvin, an extremely powerful and resilient superhuman monster hunter, and The Kid, who is Mevin’s sidekick when a comic leads him to Melvin’s grave and encourages him to dig up the wounded body of Weird Melvin. In the comic strip collection I am reading, The Kid is fascinated by an underground indie comic titled Weird Melvin, published by a one man company called Gorpon House. He goes to great lengths in finding any issues he can and barters with sweaty old men in comic shops every weekend. He eventually comes across a Weird Melvin Giant Size 100 page Special, But when he reads it, he finds out that it’s all blank panels except for when Slug Nutty kills and buries Big Weird at the beginning of the issue. He notices and recognizes the house in the back as being near the dreaded Dead Swamp. He finds the burial site of Weird Melvin and digs him up. Now that Melvin is released from his slumber, he locates and kills all monsters in his wake, Including Slug Nutty, Icky Ed, his zombified creator Lloyd Gorpon, and the swamp witch who resurrected him. But the vengeful ghost of Slug Nutty possesses The Kid’s father to find and attempt to possess Weird Melvin to become the most powerful being on planet earth. They eventually trick him into possessing a caterpillar instead, and all is good in their quiet little town, FOR NOW.

The book I am reading right now is called The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider. This book’s genre is romance. The main character in this book is Ezra Faulkner. Ezra lost all of his friends after a trip to Disney World last year. He had just met the new girl, Cassidy Thorpe and he is starting to fall in love with her. They had to work together on a Spanish assignment. Ezra made Cassidy laugh and Cassidy made Ezra laugh multiple times in their conversation. Ezra’s ex girlfriend cheated on him with one of his friends and he was not happy to hear that. Ezra also had to sit in the front row in the bleachers for a pep rally next to all of the teachers. His only friend, Toby said something inappropriate to Ezra and a teacher overheard him and they got kicked out. My favorite quote from this book is on page 3, it says “The news reports said that a fourteen-year-old boy from Japan was decapitated on the Thunder Mountain Railroad when he disregarded the posted safety warnings.” I like this quote because I was really surprised that it was so early on in the book and I really like how the author was so descriptive about it. I rate this book 3 stars so far because I am already on chapter 5 and nothing really has happened besides the pep rally and meeting Cassidy in Spanish class.

The book that I am reading is “Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson” . Shout is a book about a girl who was raped and she couldn't talk about it with people so she stayed silent. She did get her voice back but she did not make the best life decisions after she was raped. She would hang out with the wrong people. She would sneak out and she would drink because she just wanted to forget what had happened to her. She would not go to her classes and skip school a lot and not get her school work done. When she did go to school she would not pay attention because she had missed so much that she was confused so she just sat and listened. She did not talk to a lot of people but when she did it was not the nicest conversation. She did not trust a lot of people because the one that raped her was someone that she trusted a lot. She did not talk about what had happened to her “Or being raped; we definitely didn’t talk about rape.” This quote from the story sticks out to me because she can not talk about what happened to her because it is not commonly talked about. So overall I would give this book a 5/5 because it keeps you entertained and interested in what is going to happen next.

The book I’m reading is called Impulse and the author is Ellen Hopkins. There are three main characters. The first guy’s name is Conner. Conner is just arriving at Aspen Springs in the beginning of the book. He tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the chest and he failed at his attempt and ended up there. He is the newest one at Aspen Springs and he hasn’t made level one yet so he can’t go to group therapy with everyone else. Connor is hesitant at first to open up to his therapist one on one sessions but eventually he tells his biggest secret to her. The second guy’s name is Troy. Troy has been at Aspen Springs for a while in the beginning of the book. He ended up there because he was addicted to drugs and one day ended up overdosing and police authorities found him lying on the side of the road with puke all over him. Troy is a gay male but when he see’s the new girl he attomaticaly wants to be friends with her. He feels some sort of connection with her. The girl’s name is Vanesssa. Vanessa at the beginning of the book, has been at Aspen Springs for two weeks. She is in there because she is cutting herself. She one night cut so deep that it almost hit an artery and they had to stitch her arm back up. Her grandma decided to have her put into a mental hospital because she thought it would be best for her to be there. Vanessa had not gone to any of the group therapy’s the whole entire time she was at Aspen Springs and one day she randomly decided to. She ended up meeting Tony who she had never met before. Her and Tony click well together. Overall, the book is about heavy mental health topics and has some other gruesome descriptions about things.

Lost on the Appalachian Trail by Kyle Rohrig is a biography where Kyle, dissatisfied with his life, drops most everything to hike the entire 2,000 mile trail. Throughout the book Kyle meets many different people on the trail with very different experiences. After a while on the trail, basic amenities like showers and restaurants that we take for granted seem like Heaven to Kyle. Kyle comes face to face with some of Appalachia’s fiercest creatures such as the Copperhead snake and the Black Bear on multiple occasions. Probably the most suspenseful part of the book so far was when he went hiking at night and found a few pairs of eyes staring at him down the trail. They weren't moving but some were bobbing up and down and moving closer. The eyes ended up being deer's and Kyle was safe. Kyle sleeps on a hammock almost every night suspended from two trees. On rare occasions he’ll sleep in a motel and it is almost always the highlight of his day. “About losing yourself in the wilderness, only to find the things that truly matter.” I chose this quote because it is basically what I’ve been saying. He goes into the Appalachian trail and learns to appreciate life again.

The book I am reading is called Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt. This book is a young adult fiction novel. The main characters in the book are Joseph and Jack. Jack’s family takes in Joseph as a foster child who is very suspicious and untrusting to everyone. Joseph desperately wants to see his daughter Jupiter, but his girlfriend's parents put a restraint against him. At the beginning of the story when Jupiter was born, the police put a restraint on Joseph so he could never see his daughter Jupiter. When it was the first day of school for Joseph and Jack, they got on the bus and the bus driver made fun of Joseph because he had a kid, while he was in 8th grade. Joseph is different then everyone else at his new school. A quote I found from the book is “Do you think Joseph will fit in?” my mother asked me later. I choose that quote because it tells you that Joseph was a little different than everybody else. I would give this book a 4 out of 4 stars because it is a great book overall. It’s about a young kid trying all he can do to find his daughter Jupiter.

The book I am reading is Gone by Michael Grant. This is the first book in the Gone series. The book's genre is Science Fiction. There are a ton of characters mentioned in the book, but the main ones are Sam, Astrid, Quinn, Edilio, Drake, and Caine. They are all stuck in a world with all the adults gone, and everyone that's left is under 15 years old. Once you reach 15, you will seemingly just disappear from the world. They have to survive as animals mutate and people gain special powers, such as super speed and being able to shoot light. The main conflict is when the kids from the private school in the area, Coates Academy, come down to Perdido Beach, where everyone else is, and take control. At first everything is great, but then they realize the intentions of the Coates kids. Sam has to do many things. He has to figure out how to not disappear, he needs to lead everyone to take out the kids from Coates, and he needs to help everybody survive the animals that have been mutated by a mysterious monster. I would rate this book a four star because it is creepy, and the author makes it seem so real. A quote from the book that sticks out to me is, “Elwood shoved the cross of him, and Cookie screamed. Caine had not moved. Drake Merwin kept his cold gaze on Orc, his arms still crossed, seemingly indifferent.” This quote is very important to the story because it foreshadows what the kids from Coates really are. I think that anybody who likes Science fiction would really like this book.

The book I am reading is called "Nightmare City" By Andrew Klavan. I am only on page #16 and it is still really good. Well not much happened so far, other than peoples name and this one good part. I just got to the good part, it is where Tom, the main character, woke up. There was a fog outside and his mom and brother were not in the house, the neighborhood was empty. It was very silent, too silent. It was so silent, you could only hear the traffic. Not one bird or dog making a sound; you name it no sound. For example, it was almost like there was only one house in the forest and it was a haunted forest and you could hear anything except for the cars on the highway acres and acres through the forest and you can just hear the cars. I am kinda excited about what is going to happen next, because the book is called Nightmare City and it is a dead sight in the neighborhood Tom is in right now. I would say I recommend this book if you like a little scare, but I am only on page #16.

The book I am reading right now is called “Surrender” by Sonya Hartnett. It is about a guy who is named Gabriel and 20 years old. He is also very traumatized by a horrific mistake he made as a kid. He is a very quiet guy and doesn't have a family because they are distant. He only has two friends, and he lives with his dog which is named surrender. He got that dog from his dad. He also meets a wild boy “Finnigan” and he finds out he's very dangerous and Gabriel tries to get rid of him but it doesn't work and they become very good friends after that . Gabriel isn't very happy during the story because he's sad about his family and is depressed. Gabriel also goes to a party and meets a girl there. In the story Gabriel is also dying during the story and the story is basically him. Rethinking his whole life on his deathbed and he is thinking about the good memories he had when he was teenager. So he is very sad because he misses his old life when he would hang out with friends and when he was dying. This story is very sad but also very good and interesting.

The book I am reading is called “Edgedancer” by Brandon Sanderson. This is a side book in the Stormlight Archive. I have read 3 out of 4 of the main books in this series (That are out right now). The book’s genre is fantasy. The main character in this book is Lift, a girl who has the power of the Knights Radiants. This is a power from a long time ago where the original knights radiants had this power but then gave it up. The radiants are made up of 10 different orders, each with their own unique abilities. Lift is an Edgedancer basically allowing her to cancel all friction on her body so she can slide around, moving at fast speeds. Normally you need Stormlight, which are like little gems that glow to use the power. However Lift is different, and I am not sure how but she can use food to use the power (after she has eaten it). The conflict of this book is a person Lift only knows as Darkness, a person of another order who thinks that people shouldn’t have the power is chasing Lift trying to kill her. The setting for this book is a place called Roshar, the world this story takes place in. Lift has been to several different cities at this point (half way) in the book. In one of the biggest cities in Roshar, Azir, Lift was running away from Darkness and his minions. While running, one of the minions grabbed Lift’s acquaintance. The minion slit his throat, and Lift ran over and saved him with her other power, which is the ability to heal. On page 143 it says “Unfortunately, her power was almost out. A couple pieces of fruit didn’t provide enough.” I think this is interesting because it provides a connection to how much food would relate to using stormlight. When you use a stormlight it goes away out of the gemstone. It is then called dun. The dun gemstones can be renewed in weekly storms called Highstoms. The gemstones are also the currency used in almost every town. You can sometimes trade dun stones for ones with Stormlight, however it is not even, and you have to pay more dun stones for ones with stormlight. Overall I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I really like this book so far, and I can't wait to read more books in the series.

The book that I am reading is called “The Titans Curse” by Rick Riordan. This is the second book of the Percy Jackson series. This book's genre is fantasy. There are a lot of characters in this book, but the main characters are Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood, Thalia Grace, and the bad guy Luke Castellan. Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, and Luke are all half-bloods so children of a god and a human. But Grover is this thing called a styr. So Grover is part goat and part human. They all go on big and very dangerous quests. So far what has happened is Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia are getting a ride from Percy's mom to a school to meet Grover. Their job for this quest is to meet with Grover and find these two half-bloods that don't know they are half-bloods. They have to find them and get them before the principal gets them. The principal, Dr. Thorn, is the monster. They ended up finding them at a dance. But the issue is Dr. Thorn found them too. One quote that I like in this book is “He looked at his colleague. “Ms. Gottschalk, do you know these students?” Despite the danger we were in, I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing. A teacher named Got Chalk? He had to be kidding.” I personally really liked this quote because it just shows that the author has a good sense of humor. I think that when a teacher has a good sense of humor it just makes the book better. I think that anyone who thinks that Greek mythology is interesting will like this book.

The Book I’m reading is called “This is where it ends” by Marieke Nijkamp. It’s a stand-alone book. The genre is realistic fiction about a school shooting. The story is told through four different people's perspectives over fifty-four minutes. Claire the senior track star who doesn't know what to do without her best friend who is leaving for the army, Tomas the trouble maker who's just trying to protect his twin sister, Autumn the dancer who hasn't danced since her mom's dance accident, and Sylv the perfect student whose mom has Alzheimer's and can't remember her. I’m only twenty-four pages into the book so I have a lot of guesses about what will happen. A character that I think will be a big part of the story is Ty. Ty was dating Thomas’s twin sister and he is Autumn’s older brother who is missing. Tomas was looking through the school records for Ty’s file and thought “ Huh. A closest Genius” because he has a SAT score of 2140. Tomas wanted to dig something up to hurt Ty. Autumn’s family has been messed up since her mother died. Her dad blames it on Autumn and wants her to quit dancing because it reminds her of her mom too much. Ty being missing doesn't help the situation either being gone and Autumn just wants to get her senior year over and leave everything behind. I think this book will be very impactful on me, and so far I am really enjoying the book.

The book I’m reading is “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” by Suzanne Collins. It is a prequel of “The Hunger Games” series. The book series is science fiction/ dystopian. The main characters in the book are Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird. It takes place during the 10th hunger games. The hunger games are a reminder to the districts that the capitol won the war. Since the war, Coriolanus and his family have been poor. Coriolanus is a student at school in the capitol. Coriolanus and his classmates are picked to be mentors for the tributes going into the hunger games. Coriolanus gets the girl from district 12 and is disappointed at first, but is starting to like her. Coriolanus and Lucy Gray (the girl from district 12) are trying to get farther in the games by winning over the audience. In my book people from the districts are treated much worse than people in the capitol. In one part of the book it says “A self-important little girl marched up beside them and pointed to a sign on the pillar at the edge of the enclosure. ‘It says don’t feed the animals.’ ‘They’re not animals though,’ said Sejanus. ‘They’re kids like you and me.’ ‘They’re not like me!’ The little girl protested. ‘They’re district. That’s why they belong in a cage!’” This part really stood out to me because I think it shows how most people in the capitol were taught to think.

The book that I am reading is “The Art of Losing” By Lizzy Mason. This book is about a 17 -year-old named Harley Langston. She and her boyfriend, Mike- had a very strong bond, but he also had a really strong bond with Harley’s little sister Audrey. Harley’s best friend, Cassidy- had a house party because her parents weren’t home. Cassidy was unaware of a lot of things that were happening that night. Such as Mike drinking way too much and trying to do stuff with Audrey. Harley found out about that situation, and decided to drive back to her own house, leaving Audrey with no ride home besides Mike. Mike- drunk, decides to bring Audrey home, but fails miserably causing him to crash and leaving Audrey in a coma. He- also hurt, tries to talk it out with Harley, but she turns him down and continues to wait for Audrey to wake up. Harley looked at her mom's clothes and thought “her long sleeved striped cotton shirt and pressed khakis would look completely appropriate if she was posed on the deck of a sailboat.” which basically tells me that her mom cares for her daughter more than anyone could know. There are multiple visitors that come and check up on her. Such as, Audreys best friend Neema. In which she tries to blame Harley when she already blames herself. Harley then blows up on Neema, who leaves with her dad. After Neema leaves, Harley's best friend came to visit and comforts her on what is happening in her current situation. Harley then leaves to visit her Aunt Tilly and bumps into her best friend from years ago, and they start talking about what has been happening lately.

I am reading The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian By Sherman Alexie. I believe that this book is a Realistic Fiction novel. The main characters in this book are Arnold (he goes by Junior), Rowdy, Roger, and Penelope. Those are the main characters that are brought up or mentioned the most. There was a teacher that had a moment with Junior after his teacher came to his house. Junior had hit the teacher in the face with a book. Mr. P (the teacher) told him that he wants Junior to leave the reservation and have a future. Arnold had asked his mom and dad to go to Reardan(a school with no other races but white people), they automatically agreed with no hesitation. Junior wanted his best friend Rowdy to come with him, but Rowdy was Angry at him for leaving so he punched him. Rowdy has anger issues and gives up on everything, but Junior. Their relationship is ruined but Junior keeps on trying to fix their relationship. After Junior went to Reardan, he had to face racism. The whole school was calling him names like Chief, Sitting bull, Tonto, Red-skin, and Squaw boy. Roger said something so racist that Junior punched him, it was a funny and sad part of the book. Junior says that he’s in love with Penelope, after a while of them hanging out with each other they started to date(?). I put the question mark there because Junior says that they aren't dating, but are just kissing each other and holding hands. There was a dance at the school and Penelope wanted to go, so Junior took her. He didn't want her to ask him to buy anything because he was poor. After the dance, they went out to eat but Junior was feeling sick because he couldn't help pay so Roger gave in $40. At the time they didn't know that he was poor, they just guessed it. Penelope got him to confess that he was poor and didn't always have a definite way home, so she told Roger to drive him. One quote from the book was” Poverty doesn't give you strength or teach you lessons about perseverance. No, poverty only teaches you how to be poor”. This quote shows how Junior thinks about life, he had many experiences with poverty so he seems to understand it. It’s amazing how he’s still pushing through life with how much he went through.

The book I am reading is called The Murder Game by Carrie Doyle. As far as I know it is not a part of a series. It's genre is young adult fiction. It's main characters are Luke Chase, Oscar, Pippa and Kelsey. The book takes place on a school campus where Luke and Oscar are sneaking out at night to meet up with two girls in the forest outside of the campus. While they are out in the woods they hear and see some of their teachers. They make it back to there dorms but Luke thinks someone saw them. The next day at school they find out that Joanna (one of the teachers wives they saw in the woods) was murdered. If the kids were to tell people what they saw in the woods they would be ratting themselves out, so instead they keep it a secrete and try to solve the murder themselves. This book intrigued me because I find murder mystries to be very interesting and I also find it fun to try to solve them along with the characters.

The book I'm reading is “Carve the Mark'' by Veronica Roth. This book is the first in this series, and it is a sci-fi fantasy. In “Carve the Mark” there are two main characters, and the point of views switch throughout the book. This book is about Cyra and Akos, and their different worlds they live in. Akos is from Thuvhe, a snowy and frozen planet. He lived there with his family until people from Shotet invaded their home. His mother ended up dying, and his father was killed right in front of him. He and his brother were captured and taken to Shotet. Cyra was second born in a family who were the leaders of Shotet. In the book carve the mark there are these things called “currents” or “current gifts” which give a person a certain power. Cyra and Akos both developed their current gifts when they were young due to trauma. Cyra’s gift hurts anyone she touches to the point where they die, or it gets so painful they kill themselves. Akos’s gift stops anyone else current that he is touching so they are rendered powerless. Akos was captured because his fate is to serve the leaders of Shotet until death, and his brother, Eijeh, fate is to become the next oracle (a person who can see the future) which is why he was captured. Cyra killed her mom on accident when she first developed her current. Her brother now rules and uses her to torture people. Cyras gift does have repercussions though and she is also always in pain and can't escape it. Akos is assigned to be her bodyguard and to help stop the pain since whenever they are touching her current stops. Akos wants to get him and his brother out, and Cyra wants to escape her brother. So far I would rate this book a ⅘ starts. A quote that I found interesting was near the beginning when Akos was talking to his mom, and his mom said, “They are so fascinated by the fate-favored. I would love to tell you they would stop staring one day.” I found this interesting because the world loves fate-favored people, but because they are fate-favored people try to kill them and hurt them because of it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi or dystopian types of books.

One day, Finn sees a car come up next to a pretty Polish girl he knows in his otherwise quiet Midwestern town. The person driving the car traps Roza and drives off, kidnapping her. Finn goes to the police immediately, but he has a kind of "face-blindness" that makes it impossible for him to remember any details about the person who did the kidnapping, not even the race, gender, or hair color of the kidnapper. Finn feels intense guilt over what happened and senses that others blame him as well, even though nobody says it out loud. People also think Finn is in love with Roza, but he is not. His brother is.Sean gave up on his dreams of going to medical school to take care of Finn after their mother, Didi, abandoned them. One day a year or so prior to the kidnapping, Sean discovers Roza crying and traumatized in the brothers' family barn. Sean says he can take care of her and lets her stay in the spare room of their house.

The book I'm reading is Looking for Alaska. This book is a novel written by John Green. The main character is Miles Halter. Miles is switching schools to a boarding school in Alabama. His parents threw him a going away party, and nobody came. Miles likes quoting famous people's last words. When he gets to the boarding school that his dad attended, then he meets his roommate. His roommate is Chip but goes by Colonel. Colonel gives Miles a nickname which is Pudge. Miles un packs all his stuff. Then Colonel brings Miles to a girl named Alaska's room. Alaska was one of the girls that attended the same school. Alaska and Colonel both smoke. When Miles went into Alaskas room he said “the hottest girl in all of human history was standing before me in cutoff jeans and a peach tank top.” Colonel made Pudge buy cigarettes for five dollars. Colonel and Pudge went to the lake. Then the Colonel made Pudge smoke for the first time. Colonel warns Pudge about the eagle, and how he will get in trouble if he gets caught. So far I rate this book 4/4 stars. It has really good detail about many different characters and settings.

I'm reading a book called One of us is lying By Karen M. McManus and so far I would rate this book a three out of four. The book is about 5 students and they are all in detention. Bronwyn, Addy, Nate , Cooper, and Simon. Mr. Avery was their teacher and he had a strict NO PHONE policy. So at the start of every class he goes looking through every student's bag. As he was looking through the bags he found phones in all five of their bags . Which placed them all in detention but the phones that the teacher found were fake and placed there on purpose. “Honestly you’d have to be clueless to bring a phone to Mr. Avery’s lab. He has a strict NO PHONE policy and spends the first ten minutes of class rooting through backpacks like he’s a head of an airline security and we’re all on the watch list. My phone was in my locker, like always. “ you too?” Addy turns “Me three” Cooper chimes in, somebody punked us!” so i choose this book because of the suspension that leads up to the Murder. Simon never made it out of the classroom. Before the end of detention Simon was Dead. And according to the investigators, his death wasn't an accident. And the thing about Simon was that he was the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app. On Monday he died and on Tuesday he was planning to post very juicy reveals about all four of his high profile classmates, which makes all four of the suspects to the murder.

I am reading the book "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. The main character is Melinda Sordino, a very quiet girl that seems to be on everyone's bad side. The main conflict of the story is mostly internal: the story revolves around Melinda being tormented by something (that is later revealed in the story). So far, the book is focusing on Melinda living a very mundane daily life with a handful of dark moments sprinkled throughout. She is often given cold glares and rude gestures by other students for calling the cops at a party, which resulted in their punishment and displeasure. Because the themes of being invisible and alone are themes that I can relate to, I would rate this a 4/4. So far, I am very eager to finish this book, and it can bore me so easily with its slow pacing and shallow sense of realistic and relatable moments that most books tend to have with writing about school life (which is based on my personal perspective, and this book may very well feel realistic to someone else). On page 17 Anderson writes,” It looks like my mouth belongs to someone else, someone I don’t even know. I get out of bed and take down the mirror. I put it in the back of my closet, facing the wall.” I find this quote to be symbolic of Melinda’s sense of being changed and now finds her lips, riddled with scabs from her nervous tick, to be unrecognizable. The second sentence is what I believe to be symbolic of her not wanting to reflect on the night of the party. The last sentence seems to be symbolic of her making an effort to hide that memory away and literally closet her memories of what happened to her at that party.

My book is Dear Evan Hansen is about a kid named Evan Hansen who broke his arm wile climbing a tree and has social anxiety. Every day he is suppose to wright a note to him self each one starting with "Dear Evan Hansen, Today is going to be an amazing day and here's why...." one day he meats another kid named Conner who easily can get mad. However Evan likes Conner's sister Zoe. Evan was printing one of his notes at school in the computer lab and Conner came in to the computer lab and saw Evan's cast for his broken arm and how no one has signed it, so Conner signed his name as large as he could and said "Now we can both pretend we have friends." But Conner saw Evans paper including the part where he talks about Zoe. Conner then leaves the computer lab with the paper. Evan is expecting that Conner is going to show people the note but for the next few days Conner and Zoe haven't been going to school and Evan doesn't know why. So far I would rate Dear Evan Hansen a 3/4. it is a vary good book and i still haven't gotten to the mane plot.

The book I am reading is called Words We Don’t Say by K.J. Reilly. This book’s genre is realistic fiction. The characters so far are Joel, Eli, Benj, and Rooster. Joel, Eli, and Benj all work together at a soup kitchen. Joel is the main character in the book. He has feelings for Eli, but she has no idea. He feels sorry for himself because Eli doesn’t pay attention to him outside of the soup kitchen. Eli is a kind and sweet person. She cares a lot about the customers at the soup kitchen. She tries hard to be extra nice to everyone. Benj is on the weirder side, he’s quiet and crazy. There were rumors that he poisoned his parents. Rooster is a veteran, but he doesn’t talk much. Rooster wasn't really his name, Joel and Eli make up names so they can identify them between each other. Homeless and poor people go to the soup kitchen, most of them don't like talking.

The book I'm reading is Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer, the genre is fantasy. There are many main characters but there's Bella Swan’ Cullen, and Edward Cullen. The conflict is that Bella, a seventeen year old girl, fell in love with Edward, a 109 year old vampire. I give the book a 4 star rating. I find the book to be really interesting and the movie is so good. “And so the lion fell in love with the lamb”. This is relevant to the book because Edward didn't want to fall for Bella and hurt her in the end.

The book I am currently reading is Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief. It is written by Rick Riordan, and it is the first book of the series. Percy has always been different; nothing he says or does is understood by anyone but his best friend and his teacher, Mr. Brunner. His evil Pre-Algebra teacher favors Nancy Bobofit, an evil and obnoxious girl who so clearly hates him, and Mr. Brunner expects way too much out of poor Percy. He never understood why he knew so much Latin too; it came so easily. He'd always have these daydreams... At least, he thought they were daydreams...his Greek mythology books seemed so real to him, too. When his Pre-Algebra teacher ends up turning into a seriously freaky demon, all goes south. From his fighting off the demon to ending up in a Half-Blood camp, and learning about who he is, Percy is beyond himself and cannot even comprehend what is happening. Not to mention that his teacher is a centaur, his best friend's a satyr, and the annoyingly stuck up and mean girl Clarisse, daughter of Ares, is already out to get him. With all of this happening within the first 100 pages, it is so very clear that he has a lot more coming to him...and there's only 375 pages! So far, I rate this book 4/4, because of Percy's wit and humour, along with the author's descriptions and plot so far!

I am reading a book named Hole in my life by Jack Gantos. Hole in my life is a non fiction book based on a person named Jack Gantos who is in his twenties. Jack was a good person doing well at his job. Jack recklessly decided to work on a Sixty-foot yacht loaded with hashish from Virginia to New York City. He and his partners sold drugs until they got caught by the federal police. Jack found himself sentenced to six years in prison when he was twenty. When he was in prison he decided to grow a beard to make him look older and tough. While he was sitting in prison scared and bored, he started writing books. He wrote about his final year of high school and how it was restless. He also wrote about his short year as a smuggler and about his time in jail. He wasn’t allowed to have journals in jail, so he secretly wrote in his book. He spent hours in his cell writing every word he saw. He wrote in every space and in every line; his handwriting was so small he wouldn’t be able to make it smaller. His cell was small and had yellow walls.

The book I’m reading is called The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas. The book's genre is non-fiction. There are a few main characters in this book but the main characters are Starr, Khalil, the mom, the dad, and her brother Seven. What is happening in the story right now is Starr the main character is at a party with her only friend, and her friend just left her to go talk to a bully. When her friend is gone, one of Starr’s old friends comes up to her because they haven’t seen each other in a while. When they were talking and having fun seeing each other again there were gunshots, everything ran out of the building and Khalil, her old friend and Starr drove in his car. When they were driving through a neighborhood a police officer stopped them, Khalil wasn’t being cooperative and got shot. Now that her other friend is gone, Starr is depressed and in an emotional state. Anyone who likes non-fiction I think would like this book.

The book that I am reading is called Inheritance, and it is the last book in the Inheritance Cycle. It is a fantasy book; set in ancient times in a place called Alagaësia. As it is the last book in the cycle, they have almost concluded their journey, and are preparing to finish the war that begun in the first book, Eragon. They find out that Saphira, Thorn, Glaedr, and the unhatched green egg are not the only dragons left, and the riders managed to save hundreds of eggs and Eldunarí: a gem like organ that stores a dragons consciousness after death. A quote from the book that I found thoughtful is, "In time, however, Eragon's heart slowed, and his tears dried, and a measure of peace stole over him as he gazed out at the empty plain.". It shows how though he may feel sorrow about his decisions, he understands why they are necessary, and that brings him peace in the end. Overall this is a very good book, and i give it a 4/4 star.

The book I am reading is the Chocolate Run by Robert Cormler. This is the only book in the series and it is a novel. This book is about a boy named Jerry Renault who has a poster on his locker with a question on it that says “ Do I dare disturb the universe?” In the school fundraiser they are selling chocolates but he refuses to and this may not seem like a radical thing to do, but it starts a challenge with a secret school society called the vigils. Then that turns into an all out war and the new question starts. “Who will survive?” which was the whole book is based on is who is surviving and who is not making it out of the war.

The book I am reading is It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. It is about this young girl named Lilly who recently got a degree in business and wants to start a floral shop. Her father recently died and she has nothing good about him to say at all because he was abusive to her mother. Lilly moved to Boston to get away from all the pain and suffering that has happened.Something interesting that has happened so far is that she recently found a new place for her business, and while she was getting things out to organize and everything she fell and broke her ankle. So this puts a pause on her business opening up since she has to renovate and everything. One quote that stood out to me was "She cannot move to Boston". The reason is stuck out to me was because she did not want her mother to move in with her because the whole reason Lilly moved was to get away from the family problems going on and the situation is completely understandable. I rate this book 4 stars ever since I started to read it and is very interesting and really has a lot of climax to it.

The book I’m reading is Hole in my Life written by Jack Gantos. This book is based on a true story about a guy who fell into a lot of drugs and drinking. The main character is also the author Jack Gantos and he talks about what happened and what he did as a person when he was in high school. Jack Gantos keeps making bad choices. For instance he got a bad job and then when his dad got told that he had to move again Jack was sick of moving so he started to make money to stay in an apartment, so he could finish high school. Turns out that apartment was not a good choice so he left. He ends up staying with some people he knew. He kept making worse choices. He started drinking a lot more, and smoking pot and a lot more also. These choices got him kicked out of the house and is now homeless. In the book on page 16 Jack says “Still I knew something had to be wrong with me, too. You just didn’t end up homeless, hung over, sleeping in your car with all your worldly possessions because you had control of your life. Overall I give this book three out of four stars. I am not very far in this book so I can not rate it four out of four yet.

The book I am reading is “in search of us”, By Ava Dellaira. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. There are two main characters in my book. The first main character is named Marilyn. Marilyn is in search of an acting job that will be their family’s ticket out of mediocracy but, she has not gotten a job in a while. The other main character is Angie. Angie’s dad left when she was young and, her mother has been lying to her the whole time. Angie is so upset with her mother that she decides she is going to go to LA to find him. The setting right now is LA for Marilyn but, as of right now I don’t know where Angie is. The main plot of the story is that both characters are searching for something. For example, Angie is in search of her dad while Marilyn is in search of her freedom from her family. One quote that I have read from the book that I liked was, “we tell ourselves stories to live.” This was a quote Marilyn read in her book for an English assignment and, I thought the quote was just very interesting. In all, I would give this book two out of 4 stars mainly because I’m kind of confused. Also, I think it will probably get better the more I read.

The book I am reading is Strongman: The Rise Of Five Dictators And The Fall Of Democracy by Kenneth C. Davis. This book's genre is Historical. It is about five dictators who rise to power. Because money in Germany meant nothing, so people had to cart their money around because it weighed so much. Also, people have to shop fast so the price doesn't go up a lot. So far I rate this book a 3/4 because it tells me all about these people that had a lot of power and how they did it.

The book I am reading is “Shadow On The Mountain” by Margi Preus. I just started reading this book a couple of days ago, and I am not very far into it, but I like it so far. This book is about World War 2 when Nazi Germany invade Norway in 1940. The main character is a Norwegian kid named Espen. Espen was on his way to his uncle's house, when a car full of German soldiers stopped next to him and asked for his identity papers. Espen gives them his papers and they seem satisfied, then Espen notices his friend Kjell in the car. Kjell had joined the German and was riding with the other German officers. They let Espen go and they ride away. Espen continues on his way to his uncle's house.

The book I'm reading is Pet Sematary by Stephen king. The genre is horror. It's about a family who moves into a new home in Ludlow, Maine and behind their house in the woods is a pet sematary. Louis the main character meets his neighbor jud and he tells Louis about the pet sematary when Louie's daughters can gets ran over. The sematary brings the cat back to life. When his daughter gets run over as well Louis brings his daughter to the pet sematary and it brings her back as well. But the dead don’t come back the same as when they were alive. His daughter tries to kill him I think. I haven't read that far into the book yet. An interesting quote I found was ‘he’ll be up for a long time. The old sleep poorly. Perhaps they stand watch. Against what?’ so far nothing has really happened. Louis’s son did get stung by a bee. That's when the creeds meet jud. I would give this book 3 stars so far. So far nothing really interesting has happened and the pace of the book is really slow. It has not caught my attention. I just want to get to the good parts already.

The book that I am reading is called Eleanor and park and the author of the book is Rainbow rowell. The genre of the book is realistic fiction and the 2 main characters are Eleanor and Park, how funny. Nothing very interesting happened so far because I'm only on page 18 but there was a part where Eleanor got on the bus and everyone was bullying her but Park let her sit with him which was nice but then he started swearing at her. So far, I give this book a 3.5/4 because it's really good and I've gotten hooked. “She only came back when she felt like it, in dreams and lies and broken down deja vu.” I have had many close family members pass or leave so I feel like this line from the book really hits me. In conclusion, I really like this book and really recommend it.

So far my book “The Sun is Also a Star”, a somewhat romantic book by Nicola Yoon, is about a girl named Natasha and a Boy named Daniel. Natasha is a senior in High school and her family is being deported back to Jamaica from the United States, because they are here as illegal immigrants. She is Currently at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) building downtown, trying to get the country to allow her family to stay in America. She does not want to leave the United States because she wants to go to college in America and graduate with her best friend. She is scared to return to Jamaica because outside of vacation resorts, Jamaica is a poor country with a higher crime rate. Meanwhile, Daniel is talking about how perfect his older brother appears to be. However, he is claiming that his brother hates him. He is also talking about how his brother had just gotten asked to leave college and how it is affecting Daniel personally and his summer plans. Daniel and his brother are currently not on good terms. This is shown when they were both younger and Daniel’s brother got mad at him for following him and his friends around while they were biking. The book states, “I didn’t have an answer, but he really didn’t want one.” This is when Daniel’s brother asks him what Daniel is doing following him, and he doesn’t know how to respond. I would give this book a 2.5/ 4 stars so far because there hasn’t been much going on. The book is basically still describing the characters' backstories and a little of what is currently happening to them.

The book I am reading is a well known book called Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan. It is about a kid named Percy, who was once a normal kid, but then found out he wasn't, he was what Greeks call half-blood, which is defined as half mortal half god. And then after preventing a war of the gods, the magic boarders of his home camp is failing, due to a tree that was the gatherer of Zeus, which is the strength of the barrier, until someone poisoned the tree. So Percy Jackson and his friends went into a a place where people disappear, the sea of monsters. To find a fleece that can heal any living thing, ad restore the tree and the barrier that protects the camp. But they have to defeat a cyclopes that has stole it from past heroes to lure its power into a trap. And get it before a unexpected old enemy will try and take it for his own personal reasons. And then on their journey, they find out more about the past of Thalia's death, and how Percy finds out that there is another Son of Poseidon, but his brother is not how he thought he would be. Anyone that likes amazing plot twist, I recommend this book.

The book I am reading is “Sun Tzu The Art of War” by Dr. Andrew Wilson. The book is a biography that talks about the ancient Chinese book “The Art of War'' created by Sun Tzu. The book explains the history of China in mid-to-late fourth century BC and the life of Sun Tzu. The book shows how “The Art of War'' by Sun Tzu was a Military tactic masterpiece because Sun Tzu demonstrates Seriousness of war and new ideas of mass warfare, Which discipline and obedience were everything to war. My favorite quote from the book is, “Sun Wu trained and equipped the force of 30,000 men in the methods of Ch’i and, in the war that followed, used that modest force to harass, wear down and ultimately defeat the much larger army of Chu.” The quote is important to the book because it shows how Sun Tzu had such a small army but used each person effectively to take out a bigger army than his. I recommend this book is someone like history and biography's.

The book I am reading is “The One” by Kiera Cass. It is book three of the selection series. It is a fiction book about a girl named America. America goes through a very drastic change when she is chosen to be part of the selection. The selection is where various girls are chosen for the prince to choose a wife, and if he is lucky fall in love. America was not eager to move into the palace and begin the process of the selection, because it was her family's idea to enter her. So when she got picks she was not super happy, but at the end of the book she realizes “the selection is more than providing for my family.”By the second book she made it to the elites, which are the last 8 girls well the rest have been eliminated. In the “Elite” she really begins to like the prince whose name is Maxon. The conflict in most of the books are the attacks on the palace by the rebels which are happening for a reason just no one can figure out why. Another conflict is Maxon and America have to figure out their relationship and how they are gonna work out. I am really enjoying reading this series.

The book I am reading is “hole in my life” by Jack Ganto's. It’s about Jack Ganto's who had to pack up his whole life in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and move to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jack only spoke one language so he couldn’t go to school in San Juan and they couldn’t afford for him to go to private school. Since he couldn’t go to school he worked electrical in hotel rooms and lived in a hotel room. Jack couldn’t see himself working there any longer and wanted to go back to school. Jack’s parents let him move back to Florida with the Bacon family. Jack was used to having maid service so living with the Bacon's would be a change for him. Jack went back to school and stayed in the 12th grade. Jack would go out with friends every night and would come home late. He also would smell up the whole house with cigarette smoke and make long distance phone calls on the Bacon's bill. The Bacon's ended up kicking him out and he lived in a hotel nearby. A quote that I think is important in this book is “keep this up and you'll fall flat on your butt” I think that’s important because it gives him a reality check and shows him he needs to get his life together.

My book is Diary Of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. This book is about a kid named Greg. In this book Greg goes through tons of ups and downs. He's starting 6th grade and has a friend named Rowley. Greg also has a crush on a girl named Holly Hills. So far Greg went trick or treating and is being chased by some older high schoolers. So far this book is telling us that no matter what happens, keep your head up.

Another thing that Greg went through was that he got his seat next to Holly stolen. This basically summed up his first day at school being a 6th grader. When Greg got his seat stolen he was having a bad attitude about everything else. If you have a bad attitude about everything the whole day then everything will be bad I guess. If something bad happens and you have a good attitude about everything else then your day will not be so bad. One example would be, if you get hurt during the day then your mad the rest if the day then the whole day will suck. This would be because you had your injury in your head all day. In the end you just need to keep your head up no matter what happens.

Out of what i have read so far the book is about how it's summer vacation and Greg Heffley is inside playing video games with the shades closed. First his mom starts a book club and tells all the boys to bring their favorite books. The next day Greg's mom didn't like the books so she brought in her own books the next day all the boys dropped out. Greg and his best friend Rowley decided they wanted to watch a horror movie and Rowley barely even watched any of it because he was too scared when the movie was done they heard noise in the basement and got scared. Greg then started to talk about how his mom is always keeping a photo album but when he was born she kinda stopped keeping it. Greg's mom wanted to go to the beach to get them out of the house but Greg is really scared of water to where he won't go in it.

The book I am reading is Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Meltdown. Greg has to write a presentation on a country called Malta. He didn't even know this was a place. So he basically wasn't ready for his presentation on the day it was on so he just said a bunch of random stuff about it and wore the wrong clothes presenting the country and he failed the assignment. Then his mom took away the video games so he has nothing to do. This book is really fun to read so far because there is already conflicts and more to come. They also live in a neighborhood consisting of 2 parts the hill kids and the other kids. They always get in fights. So far this book is good and I look forward to continue reading

Currently the dauntless soldiers, being controlled by Jenine, are looking for Tris and Four, because they have been branded as fugitives. Jenine has other dauntless soldiers searching for the purest divergents to open a box left by the founders of the four factions. The book I am reading is called Grenade by Alan Gratz. The book is historical fiction. The book gives you the perspective of two characters during the battle of Okinawa in Japan: Ray and Hideki. Hideki is a Okinawa native and his island and home is being attacked by American troops. He is put in the Blood and Iron student corps to help fight with the Japanese army. Hideki and his classmates are told to not come back until he’s killed an American soldier, then he has to use the second one to kill himself. Hideki and his classmates try to attack an American camp. After the attack most of his classmates are left dead or injured. Hideki is now by himself trying to find a way to find his sister amongst all the chaos. Ray is a young American Marine battling on the island of Okinawa with his squad. This is the first battle Ray was ever a part of. Ray doesn’t know what to expect, or even know if he’ll make it out alive. All he knows is that the enemy of the island is everywhere. Hideki and Ray fight their best through the island. Surviving chaotic battles and dangerous attacks, but when they happen to run into each other. The choices they make in that moment will change everything. So far I think that the book is a really great read for anyone that is interested in history and story-driven books. It has a great setting that takes place in a real event, and gives you the perspectives of both sides of the battle.

I am currently reading a book called Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds. This book is about two best friends. The two of them have been friends since kindergarten. They became friends when their moms would not let them walk to and from school unless they walked together. They are the only two kids that live in their neighborhood. The girl has a blood disease, which can affect every part of her body. She has had it since birth. In the beginning of the year she had it really bad and she missed school for months because of it. The boy has a hard time paying attention in school. He also has random theories that are really weird. One theory that he had was that humans were basically boogers. He thought this because humans were made out of dust, and we are almost 100 percent water. Also, boogers are made out of a mixture of dust and water, so he thought that humans were basically boogers. That is my favorite part of the book. I think that this book is really interesting and is written very well. I think that a lot of other people would enjoy this book as well. If someone asked me if they should read this book, I would definitely recommend this to them.

I am currently reading “This Is Where It Ends” by Marieke Nijkamp. The book's genre is fiction and is about a school shooting. There are multiple characters in this book, but the main characters are Claire,Tomas, Autumn and Sylv. This book takes place in a school that Claire, Tomas, Autumn and Sylv all attained. One day they are all at school and it is almost the end of the day but the school has a last minute assembly planned. Claire, Tomas, Autumn and Sylv attend the assembly but when they are at the assembly someone breaks into the school and they have to go into lockdown. They find out that the person is armed and now they are all stuck in the gym not knowing what to do or where to go. My favorite Quote from this book is “We are more than our mistakes. We're more than what people expect of us.” I like this quote because it's like saying it doesn't matter what other people think. I would give this a 3.5/4 rating so far. I think anyone who likes fiction will like this book.

I am currently reading The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This book is about how people treat African Americans unfairly. My main character is Starr Carter. She lives in this town called Garden Heights. This book shows that Garden Heights isn't the safest place, a reason for it to be a horrible place is that there is a huge drug dealer gang, the leader of the gang is King, and Starr's dad was once King's right hand man. Another unsafe place is the high school so Starrs mom has moved her and her brothers to a preparatory school called Williamson. Starr has two brothers, her oldest is named Seven. Her younger brother's name is Sekani. The story starts off with a huge turning point and sets the plot for the rest of the book. Starr and her friend Khalil get pulled over while driving, Kahlil is very passionate about how cops target the African Americans of Garden Heights. Khalil argues with the officer and is forced out of his car. As the officer walks back to his car Khalil reaches in his car to grab a comb and has a joke to make Starr laugh, the officer shoots Khalil thinking he had a gun. This action causes the huge plot of if Starr should stand up for what the officer did wrong or stay quiet. Starr makes a decision that puts her position in Garden Heights very dangerous and causes a lot of problems. This book is stunning and really is breathtaking.

The book I am reading is called Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi. This book is about a guy named Nailer and he searches for metals and other valuable things. He looks for them in abandoned tankers. He works with a lot of people. He is really small therefore he is the one that goes in the dark tanker and looks for the copper and wire. When they get the copper and wire they sell it to the rich people. He works for a really mean boss and they got into a really heated argument. Their work conditions are really bad and they have to wear a mask to help them from breathing in the dust. His mask is really bad because it was a hamidown from his dad. Since it is really big it does not suction to his face like they are supposed to. His coworkers are very hard on him because of how slow he does his job, but he is working his hardest. He always looks out into the ocean and looks at the other rich people’s boats and wishes that were him. A quote from the book that I think is thought full is “Grime and salt sweat stung his eyes and trickled around the edges of his filter mask.” I think that is thoughtful because even though he has harsh conditions he still works hard For the part that I have read, I give it a two-star rating.

The book I am reading is called “Long Way Down” by Jason Reynolds. This is not a seauyrs but i think it should be. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. There are a lot of characters in this book. Some of them are Shawn, Buck, Will, Dani, Riggs, and Tony. The main character is Will. Will is a kid in a bad part of town. One day during a walk with his brother a car drives by and shoots his brother. The story follows Will as he tries to avenge his brother's death. In the story Will figures out who killed his brother. He then goes to where he is at, but he has to take an elevator down. On the way down multiple versions of himself come to talk to him and tell him stories about other people that got shot. One qwot from the book is.”Dani said her body burned and all she wanted to do was jump outside of herself, swing to somewhere else like we pretended to do on monkey bars. If I had to rate this book I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. So far I think this book is very good.

The book I am reading is Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds. This book is realistic fiction about a girl and her best friend. Their names are Jasmine and TJ. This book mostly takes place at school. The story begins with them talking about boogers. Yes boogers. So far I am only on page 20 so not a lot has happened other than them talking about how humans are pretty much boogers. Also the main character Jasmine had to miss a whole month of school because she was sick in the hospital. The part of the book I am at right now is the first day she gets to go back to school after being sick. There so far isn’t any conflict right now and it's not very dramatic. My favorite quote from the story so far is “We all basically… boogers.” on page 7. They think we are mostly made out of boogers because God made us out of dust and our bodies are mostly out of water which is what boogers are made out of. I really don’t enjoy reading that much but this book so far is interesting. This book keeps me reading and does not get boring. I would rate this book a 4.

The book I am reading is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is a fantasy book that takes place in a fantasy land called “Wilderland”. The story follows a group of adventurers and the main character, Bilbo Baggins. Within the group there are 13 dwarves, a wizard named Gandalf, and a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. The main conflict in the story is the fact that there is a dragon that lives in a mountain who stole from and killed many dwarves, it also destroyed many villages. Because of this the dwarves want to go and kill the dragon to take back their gold. The reason Bilbo went on the adventure as well was because Gandalf said that Bilbo would be a good burglar to have on the trip, even though he was never a burglar and he never wanted to go on an adventure. Actually, a quote in the book is, “ He was thinking once again of his comfortable chair before the fire in his favourite sitting-room in his hobbit-hole, and of the kettle singing.” This shows how often throughout the trip Bilbo often wished for his home, which I think shows his attitude throughout his adventure well. Through the adventure they had to get over a bunch of challenges and difficulties in order to get to the dragon.

The book I am reading is called Ship Breaker. I'm on page 17. The book Ship Breaker is written by: Paolo Bacigalupi. In the book Ship Breaker the main character is Nailer. Nailer has a unique job. Nailer’s job is to scrap boats. Nailer and his crew that he works with take the copper wire from the boat. With the copper wire they sell it to rich people. Nailer and his crew make very little money but they are lucky enough to have a job. The working conditions are very bad. In the book Ship Breaker on page 1 it says “Grime and salt sweat stung his eyes and trickled around the edges of his filter mask.” Nailer has to crawl into a tight space on a boat with little to no light and rip wire out of the boat. Nailer wears a mask because in the boat there are many types of dust that are bad to be inhaled. Nailer has an old worn down mask so it does not help filter the dust very well. Nailer has a bad mask because he can not afford a new mask. Nailer is the smallest in his crew, because of his small size he can fit into the smaller spaces. Nailer’s boss and his crew are hard on him. One dramatic event that happened was when Nailer was arguing to his boss because his boss was talking about his dad. I would give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars because it is pretty interesting.

The book I am reading is called The Hate U Give. It is about a 16 year old girl named Starr, she and her friends are at this party and she finally sees her childhood friend Khalil, she was very happy to see him and then during the party a fight broke out and they left. They went into Khali’s car and they were just driving and talking. Then a cop pulled over and asked them for a driver's permit. Khali started getting defensive to the cop and the cop got really mad so he made Khali and Starr get out of the car. Then he shot Khali and he died. After that the police came and the ambulance came to take Starr and Khali. After that experience, Starr got really scared and she would get nightmares so it was very hard for her. She soon had to go to these detectives and talk about what happened that night. Starr and her family went to the funeral for Khali and it was really sad there were a lot of reporters there and protesters saying that they wanted justice for Khali. But Starr and her family were just still sad and grappling with the fact that Khali was not alive.

The book I am reading is called Dear Martin by Nic Stone. The book is a novel. The main character is Justyce McAllister. Justyce is top of his class and has a bright future ahead of him but the police officer that racial profiled and handcuffs him doesn't know that. He had left the rough neighborhood for a bright future, but still can't seem to catch a break whether it be some old friends, kids in his school or girl problems. Who knew winning the debate tournament and getting accepted into Yale could be so problematic? After winning the debate tourney Justyce and S.J both show affection and their care for each other and Justyce leaned in for a kiss. What he thought was going well turned bad, S.J turns away and walks out. Since that day when S.J said goodbye and drove away they hadn't spoken again. Justyce, left heartbroken, finally gives in to going to a party with Manny after seeing S.J crying. So far this is all I've read but I would really recommend this book to someone who likes realistic real life scenarios. I would give this book 4 of 4 stars because I really enjoy and appreciate the story so far.

The book I'm reading is five feet apart by Rachel Lippincott. So the book is about two teenagers in a hospital both suffering from CF and although there his form of CF would make it where she could not get new lungs if they come in contact with each other but they still end up falling in love with each other. The problem is that CF is a disease that can not spread to people who do not have it but the bacteria can spread to other CF patients. So they have to stay six feet apart and the nurse Barb cares for them but they think she is just very strict. So Barb keeps separating them, but as many know, absence makes the heart grow fonder. They mainly have a relationship because she wants him to do his treatments but he does not care and has a real mentality that he is done with his life and she wants him to live which is when she falls in love with him. I enjoy this book because of how many twists there are but then it is also comfortably predictable so the reader does not get lost in the book.

I am reading Diary of a Wimpy kid the Getaway by Jeff Kinney. The genre is a fun read, the main character is Greg Heffley, and the setting in the island he's on for vacation. One conflict that happened was that the Heffley family grabbed the wrong suitcase so they had no clothes other than the ones they shoved into their carry-on bags. I would rate this book a three out of four.So far I think the book is interesting. "I went to open the big suitcase but it was locked. I asked Dad for the key, but he said out suitcase didn't have a lock. Dad looked at the tag on the suitcase, and it had someone else's name on it." This quote shows that there's conflict in the book and it tells what the conflict is. The main plot of the book is that instead of spending Christmas at home, the Heffley's decided to go on vacation instead. But, it didn't go as planned.

The book I am reading is called The Chocolate War by Robert Cormler. This is the first book out of the two. The book’s genre is young adult fiction. So far there are a few very important characters, some of them are: Archie, Leon, Obie, and Jerry. Archie is the “leader” of The Vigils, he makes and assigns all the assignments. He is pretty powerful, if he doesn’t like an idea then The Vigils don’t like the idea. Brother Leon is the assistant headmaster at the Trinity all boys High School. As of right now he is making a deal with Archie about buying twenty thousand boxes of chocolate for this year's fundraiser. Obie is The Vigils counselor, he makes sure each assignment gets to the right person. Obie seems like a nice person so far. Jerry is one of the targets. He is a freshman trying out for the football team. But he is not having too much luck getting in, his mother also died last summer, so it has been a rough journey for him. The Vigils exist because it keeps the school under control. Without it the school would be chaotic. One of my favorite scripts is when Archie says “These goddam assignments, Archie said. Do they think it’s easy? His voice dripped sadness. ” I like this part because it shows that Archie is frustrated, and doesn’t always want to give the assignments. I think this is a great book with all the details in it, and amazing writing!

I read the book Sherlock Holmes. Which in total has more than one story in it, but that's not why I loved it. I loved it for the action and adventure it provided. The setting was also super amazing, back then London was full of crime which makes it perfect for some of these stories. I also love the comic relief it effortlessly gives the reader. One of my favorite things about this book is how the duo Holmes and Watson always pick on each other. Watson has a nice home with a wife and Holmes is all over the place, yet they still seem to work around the different lives they lead to solve the mysteries.

The book I am reading is "Looking for Alaska" the author is John Green. The main character in the book is Miles Halter. The setting of the book is the boarding school he's going to for the summer. One conflict that happens in the story is him meeting his roommate for the first time in a not very good way. I rate this book a 8/10. "When I opened the bathroom door after my shower, a towel wrapped around my waist, I saw a short, muscular guy with a shock of brown hair. Great, I thought i'm meeting my roommate naked" This quote shows the conflict of the book. The main plot of the book is his parents sent him to boarding school where he meets his new friends.

The book I am reading is called, anger is a gift by Mark Oshiro. The main character is a boy named moss. The book is about a black boy named moss and he has very severe anger issues, and he has lots of troubles in his life. Like his school has zero funds for anything. The school he goes to is West Oakland high school. And moss feels like his school isn't really a place of learning. He feels like his school is more of like a place to keep kids during the day because there is a resource officer in the halls and he feels intimidated. and he wants to stand up to the school. to make the school a place of learning and education. I would give this book a 3.5 out of 5 right now, because the part I am on isn't very interesting.

The book I am currently reading is This Boy’s Life by Tobias Wolff. This book is a memoir and is not in a series. The genre of this book is a biography. There are very few characters in this book. The main characters are Toby, Jack, their mom, and Roy. Toby and Jack are different versions of the author himself. Toby is an ‘A’ grade student, a boy deeply concerned about the world’s esteem, a loyal support to his mother, destined for Princeton like his brother Geoffrey. Jack is a liar and a thief, graceless and violent. His mom was a hard working mother making sure her family could survive happily. Separated by divorce from his father and brother, Toby and his mother travel from Florida to Utah to a small village in Washington state, with many stops along the way. As each place doesn’t quite work out, they pick up to find somewhere new. The author recreates the frustrations, cruelties, and joys of teenage life and presents a deeply poignant exploration of memory, dreams, and how we create a self. I really enjoy this book and if you like to read memoirs about someone's life I would recommend this book. My favorite quote from this book is, “It’s true that life doesn’t happen to us in stories, that we make stories out of it, and that in making those stories we can’t help but to put a personal stamp on them, for better or for worse.” This quote is important to the story because it shows us that the author makes different stories on his life in a good way and a bad way to reflect how his childhood was. I would give this book a 4 star review.

On page seven it says “ So I draw because I want to talk to the world. And I want the world to pay attention to me. I feel important with a pen in my hand. I feel like

The book I am reading is called “The Virgin Suicides”. It is a realistic fiction book by Jeffrey Eugenides. It takes place in the quiet suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. The main characters of the book are a group of boys that live in the same neighborhood as the Lisbon family. Throughout the story you are never told the boys' names as it remains a mystery. The book is about the “male gaze”. The group of boys live across the street from the Lisbon family house which is home to the five Lisbon girls, Lux, Cecelia, Mary, Therese, and Bonnie. Throughout the year as the boys observe them from a far the sisters start committing suicide one by one over the course of a single year. After the tragedies come to an end the parents of the girls pack up and leave town, leaving the mystery of why and what made these situations happen. One quote from the book I love is when Cecelia Lisbon is in the hospital after her first attempt and the doctor asks “What are you doing here, honey? You’re not even old enough to know how bad life gets.” And she responds back with “Obviously, Doctor. You’ve never been a thirteen-year-old girl.”

The book I am reading is trouble by Gary D. Schmidt. It is about a boy named Henry smith who lives in Blythbury by the sea. It is fictional. Where Henry lived nothing could ever do anything to their house nothing could shake it nothing could make it fall not even the worst of storms could but the dog was nothing like a storm they had seen and nothing good happened with that like Henry's brother was taken, his family was destroyed and he was left with nothing but a black dog. So Henry takes off and heads for mount katahdin, it is the mountain he wanted to climb with his brother when he was still strong and healthy and he said Henry could never do it. On page one Henry's Smith's father tells him “That was a mistake. you don't go looking for trouble, henry. . . . Get away”. This shows that trouble is always there and you can't run away from it, you have to be able to push through and keep going. Because Henry's life is nothing but trouble. I like the book and I would give it a four out of four for starts. I highly recommend it.

Government is ruled by a king one king. From blood to blood, down the family line. One son to another. No one else can rule over it.If the king dies then the next son, its a never ending cycle. Society if you were born in a rich family you were the one on top. If u were born at the bottom then you work, but you were protected by the cause they need you. You were they money and food, they would have to work and find wealthy people to work. Economy like I said before people, people needed money for their families. And the king needed people to make money for him and to work for him. It all depends on what family you were born in.

Cujo by Stephen king is about a family that moves because of work and they meet a "friendly" family dog. The setting is in a small town of people and some of the main characters are Donna, the mother, tad, the son, and Vic the father. the conflict to the story is that Cujo is bitten by bats and is infected with rabies. This results in Cujo trying to kill some of the family while Vic is gone. Vic left for a work meeting he needed to attend and that left behind Donna and Tad. One quote I found very thoughtful was “We'll just have to get along. That's what people do, you know? They just get along. And try to help each other.” This quote was very thoughtful because it can apply to daily life now and teaches people to get along with each other and when doing so help each other grow. So far Cujo has been an amazing book and the dialogue speaks very well to me and I can view the detailed images in my head because King describes things very well and puts them in the deepest detail that he can. I would recommend this to a family member and friends and also give this book a rating of five out of five stars.

The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook, by Joshua Piven and David Borgenicht, is, well, a survival handbook for the worst-case scenarios. The genre would most likely be non-fiction. There is no main character, unless you count the people in the sketches, of course. The setting and conflict changes with each situation, and there are definitely many things that I'd consider interesting. There isn't anything I can note as dramatic until my imagination goes wild. I'd give this 4 stars as this is very informing and useful for the dangers life may throw at us.
